About Steven C.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in your home, my priority is maintaining their sense of security. I follow your 'house rules' to the letter to ensure their routine stays consistent. From refreshing water bowls and administering meds to high-energy play sessions, I handle every task with care. I also make sure your home stays exactly as you left it—secure, clean, and filled with a happy, well-exercised pet.

Information Steven C. would like to know about your pet

To ensure a safe and successful experience, especially when offering high-energy activities like running, it is vital to understand the pet's physical health and stamina (specifically joint health and heat tolerance) and their leash manners (reactivity to squirrels, bikes, or other dogs). You should also confirm their emergency medical preferences—such as their local Lincoln vet—and identify any environmental triggers like traffic noise or storms. Gathering these details beforehand allows you to tailor your distance and pace to the dog's specific needs while keeping both of you safe on the trails.

A typical day

Morning "Calm Connection": Start with that 10–15 minute calm period you mentioned—letting the dog wake up, offering a morning stretch, and checking their energy levels. High-Energy Adventure: Head out for that run or distance walk while the Nebraska air is still cool. The "Cool Down": Return home for fresh water and a brush-down. This is a great time to send the owner a "Post-Run" photo of their tired, happy pup. Mid-Day Enrichment: If you're house-sitting, this is the time for "brain games" (puzzles or hide-and-seek) followed by a nap. Evening Wind-Down: A shorter neighborhood stroll and some quality couch time before bed.

Pet care experience

Growing up on a farm, I learned early on that every animal deserves patience and a steady hand. I treat every pet as an equal, whether I’m bottle-feeding a newborn kitten, training a high-energy dog to run alongside me, or simply sitting in the sun to keep a senior pet company. Because I don’t have pets of my own right now, my schedule is completely open. They get 100% of my attention, 100% of the time.

Steven is great with our high energy german shepherd! He would be a great pet sitter for any dog but especially those who need alot of exercise and enjoy walks or runs.
