I have a lifelong love and passion for animals. Growing up with pets my whole life has given me a deep understanding of their needs and behaviors. My volunteer work as a dog walker at the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland has allowed me to gain valuable hands-on experience in caring for and handling a wide variety of dogs, including those with different temperaments and backgrounds. One of my special skills is puppy training. I have a solid understanding of puppy development and the importance of early socialization and basic obedience training. I have successfully trained several puppies, helping them establish good behavior patterns and essential commands. I believe in positive reinforcement techniques and creating a structured yet nurturing environment for puppies to thrive. I also enjoy working with senior pets. I understand the unique needs and challenges they may face, such as mobility issues. With patience, compassion, and a gentle approach, I provide specialized care for senior pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Stephen is our senior dog Lilly’s favorite! She has become quite clingy in her old age, and Stephen is there for her. He is attentive to her and communicative with us. Can’t say enough about how much we appreciate him!
Stephen for the win yet again! When our naughty dog set herself up for stomach issues by eating many, many Cliff bars, Stephen took all the right actions by checking labels, letting us know what happened, and asking if we’d like him to take further action. He’s a gem of a sitter, to be sure!

Schedule
My schedule allows me the flexibility to give pets regular attention and care. Dogs will enjoy regular outdoor time, especially for ones who require frequent exercise.

Safety, trust & environment
Pets who stay with me will have constant attention and care throughout their stay. They have full roam of the house and (dogs) will be taken outside very regularly.
A typical day
Dogs who play well with others, I often take down to the stream for a swim or to the dog park for a hike. Dogs who prefer to be on their own, I take around my yard and on local walks/hikes. Or just play in the yard.
