About Stephen F.
Safety, trust & environment
I do not intend to care for dogs in my home. My services will be at the owner's residence and neighborhood. I intend to learn about the owner’s wishes and dog’s habits, and be attentive to the personality of the dog.
Information Stephen F. would like to know about your pet
How they play, where is their safe space, assure that water is always available to the dog. Is the dog a "jumper". Interview the owner to assess their style of managing the dog and any triggers which I should be aware of (i.e. meeting another dog on a walk, loud noises, bikes, and children). Understanding how the dog approaches strangers and other dogs on a walk.
A typical day
I have walked dogs for friends and neighbors in Eastham. Occasionally, I have been asked to sleep overnight when the owners are away or traveling. Typically, walking is the primary activity. If there is a play toy which the dog likes, I engage in that "game", i.e. chasing balls, playing with a rope in a "tug of war". I let the dog lead the way with play activities.

Pet care experience
I have house sat for friends with dogs, including overnight stays. I am experienced with senior dogs; primarily walking, visiting and handling adult dogs. I am comfortable with younger dogs as well. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with dogs and miss my time with our yellow lab that was part of the family for 13 years.
Reviews
Stephen has been helping with our dog Harley for a couple of years. First Steve walked with me and Harley just for exercise every Tuesday morning for around a year. As the year wore on I could tell that Harley was bonding with Steve and he is not a dog that easily bonds with other people. Steve lives a couple of houses down from us and when I want Harley by his house he often looks to see if he is out. Over the last year Steve has helped take care of Harley when we went on vacation. He has also walked Harley for me when I couldn't walk him and my wife was not able to. Steve has a great love for our dog as well as for dogs in general. I never hesitate to have Steve take care of or just walk Harley.
