Doodle Day Care

Doodle Day Care!! Did you know dogs copy the behavior of the dogs they hang out with? It’s called allelomimetic behavior — basically, they mirror the vibe of their pack. Thanks to mirror neurons and observational learning, dogs pick up calm or reactive habits from the dogs around them. And yes, they can learn to be calm from you too. My dood, Gunner, never hides, shakes, or freaks out over thunder, fireworks, or loud cars — because I don’t. Three years of working remote has let me model a chill, structured lifestyle, and now Gunner is cool as a cucumber… pretty rare for a high energy 3 year old GoldenDoodle. But imprinting calm behavior has to start early. That’s why I only work with Dood-mixes under 18 months and senior dogs — they deserve peaceful surroundings and make amazing mentors. Sending your dog to a big box, kennel, or retail daycare? Ever peek at the cameras and see them getting chased, harassed, or having other dogs all up in their business? Sure, they come home tired… but that’s fight or flight fatigue, not healthy exercise. Worse, those reactive habits get reinforced all day — and then brought right back into your home. If this sounds good for you and your dood…here is the typical day • Clean, calm, large home to roam. • Reinforcement of your home training (sit/stay - the basics) • Walks, rain or shine, plenty of time for reading all their pee-mail • Individual walks with proper leash and behavior reinforcement • Group Outings to Richey Woods Park or Nickel Plate Trail exploration • Play-time/Down-Time throughout the day • Scheduled feeding and attention to dietary needs • Tiered pricing for micro, mini and large mixes • Pick-up and Drop-off service (added fee) • 8am – 6pm, just off 96th and 69 corridor

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a large townhouse with lots of space for your dog to roam. I also have crates of varying size if your dog prefers privacy. I currently walk my own dog six times a day so if your dog needs exercise, they can join all the walks! On overnight stays your dog has options of a dedicated room for sleeping alone or wherever they are most comfortable.

I am writing to share my recommendation for Steve Crump as a responsible, loving, and trustworthy pet caregiver. As his neighbor for several years, I have had a front-row seat to his character, reliability, and deep affection for animals. Watching him care for his own dog, Gunner, for the past 2.5+ years has been a privilege. He takes her out for walks multiple times per day, ensuring she gets plenty of exercise, structure, and love. He treats Gunner with the utmost patience and attentiveness, and is tuned in to her visual and verbal cues. It is incredibly clear that Steve views pets as cherished family members and always prioritizes their safety and happiness. I have no doubt that Steve will provide this same high level of dedicated, professional care to every client he meets through the Rover platform. He has the exact blend of reliability, compassion, and organized communication that pet owners look for in a pet care provider.
