I work from home and have my own dog to look after. He's a very calm cocker spaniel, currently 8 months. We go for walks two to three times a day and spend time daily training, mainly to keep him safe in a city.

A typical day
I think it's important to let dogs get to know a new environment in a relaxing pace that encourages them to find their way. Once settled I enjoy walks in the local park and further in the meadow where there is more nature to enjoy and more things to smell! The gated yard in my building complex is great for a short break during the day for play, shade in the heat and toilet breaks. If it's too hot, we'll stay inside and I'll turn on the air-conditioning so we can stay nice and cool.

Pet care experience
I've grown up with cats and dogs and can't imagine a life without pets. My mum even runs a cat charity in Gloucestershire. I love owning a dog, Max who gets on with everyone and every dog - I've never heard him bark at other dogs! Seeing how others interact with dogs is also a great indicator of whether I'll get on with them! 🤣 I've had Max since he was 9 weeks. I'm patient and understand how to train and handle dogs. I've a gated garden and live right next to a park, normally taking Max for walks at least twice a day.

Stephen is absolutely amazing. Colin had the best time with Max and Oakley. Stephen completely put us at ease and looked after our puppy so well.
Larry enjoyed his time with Stephen, and his dogs Max and Oakley - so much so that he wanted to go back, and then spent the afternoon snoozing after all the fun. Thanks for looking after Larry overnight - it’s a great help :-)
