I've grown up with cats my whole life, and all my friends were pet people so I was always surrounded by animals. A little later in life, my family got a dog (a very special breed called a Stabyhoun) whom I walked in the woods and trained and did some basic agility with. I also have experience providing specialized dog sitting for someone while they were at work all day. My true love though is cats, and I currently have two of my own who I treat as if they were my own children. One of them has specialized medical needs because of some urinary stone issues, so I have experience providing medicine and special diets for cats when needed. I've pet sit for my parents and neighbor before. When I was young I poured over animal encyclopedias because I just found them so fascinating, and still continue to love to learn and understand animal behavior. I've been living in Sweden the past 9 years and am new to Ottawa and brought our own kitties all the way over from Sweden. I have needed a cat sitter many times and understand wanting to know updates and that your kitty is okay, which I would be happy to provide. I love meeting new cats and getting to know them, as well as giving them the desired amount of attention they want because let's face it, all cats are particular in their own way about this.

I will always be sensitive to an animal's needs in terms of how social or unsocial they wish to be. I understand needing to go slow and calm with some animals, while others are happy to get cuddles from the start. I can play with your cat, or just sit there so they feel they have some company for a bit.
Ratings and reviews
Stephanie looked after our energetic German Shepard Chelsea for three days. She took the time to come and meet us beforehand. She did a great job making sure that Chelsea was fed, watered and walked during two daily visits. Stephanie sent pics on each visit and kept us up to date with short reports on every visit. I would definitely recommend her.
Stephanie has always been a reliable person around pets! It's easy for my dogs to be around her (three rowdy small dogs). Responsible and warm. She's been super great as a petsitter. My ex's family's chihuahua who isn't great with unfamiliar people easily warmed up to her when she took him for walks. :) I think she has a good balance of calm and also playful energy which helps create a good environment when she's dogsitting or catsitting.
Stephanie is one of the kindest, most caring people I know, and animals naturally seem to feel comfortable around her straight away. She’s incredibly gentle, patient, and attentive, and she genuinely treats every pet with so much love and care, as if they were her own. Stephanie is trustworthy and thoughtful, pays attention to the little things, makes sure pets feel safe and happy, and truly enjoys spending time with them rather than seeing it as “just a job.” Whether it’s dogs or cats, I know they would be in amazing hands with her. If you’re looking for someone reliable, sweet, and genuinely passionate about animals, I would absolutely recommend booking with her.
Stephanie is great with both cats and dogs. Stephanie loves cats more than any person I know and I've seen her as a dog sitter doing an amazing job. I would definitely recommend Stephanie to care for any animal you hold dear. First and foremost, Stephanie LOVES cats. She has taken care of multiple family cats over 20 years. She also has taken care of cats of friends and neighbors. She is very caring and thoughtful in the care of pet cats. She will faithfully follow your feeding and care instructions. She will follow the litter routine diligently. Stephanie knows how to take a cat to a vet if necessary. She is also very good at keeping you up to date on how your cat(s) are doing and sending along fun photos. Stephanie also loves playing with your pet. She does more than the basics. Stephanie also has experience in taking care of dogs (family and friends). Taking good care of cats is something Stephanie gets excited about!

Schedule
At the moment I do not have an another job, so my schedule is very flexible and open. I can come by multiple times day if needed, and am available mid-morning until the evening.
