Pet care experience
Lifetime of Loving Pet Care
I’ve been an animal lover my whole life. When I was in college, I began volunteering at a local shelter in Chicago where I cared for cats of all ages and also worked with other volunteers to rehabilitate dogs that had been rescued from dog-fighting rings. After moving to California, I continued volunteering at a shelter in SF and did everything from training puppies (and highly energetic adult Huskies) to socializing anxious senior dogs and providing cuddles and love to deaf dogs waiting for their perfect forever homes. I have experience with exotics as well and was a guinea pig parent for over a decade. I also have experience administering topical, pill, and liquid medications as well as medicated feedings for cats and guinea pigs.

Ratings and reviews
Stephanie had been so lovely to work with. My pets were immediately drawn to her and she was so thorough in our initial meeting, wanting to really get to know Henry and all his quirks. We’re very grateful to have her spend time with our boy!

Stephanie is kind friendly and reliable. I felt good letting her care for my fluffy boy. Thank you! 🩷

We had a great experience with Stephanie. Our two puppies loved her and they were super comfortable around her right from the start. We look forward to the next visit!

I have known Stephanie for over 25 years and I have always known her to be exceptionally caring and kind with all animals. She has owned and fostered kitties, loved and walked dogs, and taken the BEST care of her guinea pigs. She donates her time to working with shelter animals - and takes the best pictures of them! She’s a professional photographer as well, so look out for some great pics of your animal family. Stephanie is also one of the most responsible and capable people I have ever met. If she says she will do something, you can trust that she will absolutely do that thing, on time and to the very best of her sizable ability. I’d trust her with literally anything. She’s the best!
Stephanie is truly an animal whisperer. EVERY animal loves her and is drawn to her -- even the timid or more particular ones -- and it's no surprise because she exudes gentleness, care, patience, compassion and love. She has extensive experience with many rescues, having worked as a volunteer at local animal shelters, and has personally adopted multiple guinea pigs and cats that she has raised since they were babies. She has also looked after my anxious, high-energy tiny dog -- and he was so happy with her! Stephanie loves animals, sees their own unique personalities and cares for them with tremendous love. I can confidently say that anyone's pet would be in excellent, trustworthy, dependable, responsible, loving hands with Stephanie. She'll treat your sweet baby as if it were her own.
Ever since I’ve known Stephanie, she’s had a truly special connection with animals. She bonds with them naturally and treats every pet with kindness, patience, and genuine care. Stephanie is gentle, attentive, extremely trustworthy, and always punctual—everything you’d want in a pet caregiver. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will care for their pets as if they were her own.
Calendar and availability
Schedule
I work from home as a freelance photographer and now that my kids are in school full time, I have more freedom and flexibility in my weekday schedule. I’m available for daily walks, play dates, check-ins, feedings, and cuddle time as well as some weekend overnight sitting.
Where your pet will stay
Safety, trust & environment
I am happy to sit and chill with dogs that need calm care and cuddles and am comfortable crating your dog if needed. I’m also happy to take your doggy out for a walk or hike if exercise and action is more their speed. I’m also a trained Reiki Master Teacher and can provide reiki energy healing to anxious or scared pups.
Pets
A typical day
Depends on what your pet likes! For active dogs, I love hikes and running at the dog park, or “scent walks” where I let the dog and their amazing nose take the lead and follow whatever fascinating scents they find. For chill dogs, we can okay with toys at home, cuddle, or practice tricks with some basic training. With cats, it’s absolutely up to them! Snuggles, wand toys, etc are all popular with my two kitties. I also love cuddling guinea pigs and have potty trained four different piggies! I am also a certified Reiki Master Teacher and have used reiki to help calm anxious pets.
