I joke that I was born a cat lady, but truly, I don't remember a time when I wasn't totally in love with cats. Their body language, moods, and personalities seem like second nature to me. I'm also SUPER patient with timid cats and love when I have plenty of time to build trust with them. I've cared for cats who were super easy to get along with, cats who have warmed up to me slowly, and cats I barely saw evidence of besides food and water bowls gradually emptying, or who grumped at me from a distance the whole time I was in their spaces. I love them all. That they will do their own thing no matter what is one of the things I love best about these little creatures. I'm really excited to meet and spend time with yours. I have some experience with other small animals as well, including but not limited to rabbits (I had a Netherland dwarf for over 10 years), guinea pigs, herps, and salt and freshwater aquarium systems. If you have a small pet that just needs to be fed and/or checked up on in addition to your cat, I see no need to add a second/third/etc. pet charge for these. As for my own cats, I currently have two, and lost one a few years ago. Major is my baby, my little shadow, the creature who loves me more than anyone else ever has. She's a dilute tuxie who is extremely friendly, needy, loud, and funny. Gordie is a large, sweet, sedentary ginger creamsicle who just loves to love. Sometimes I think I'm just furniture and a face-scritcher to him, but when I listen closely for his very quiet purrs, I know he adores me. Meatball was the softest boy with the prettiest face. He was easy to overlook because he was mostly white with large brown tabby patches, but oh, that face! He made the cutest sounds and would stand in front of you to let you know he wanted to be picked up and held. We miss him SO much. These guys are the basis for most of my skills: - Pill and liquid medication administration - Insulin and fluid injections - Ear and eye drops and other minor types of care, like acne wipes My schedule is completely flexible because I'm self-employed. I tend to be a night owl but whatever your lil buddies need, I'll make it work! My partner and I and the third person in our "bubble" (yes, still) who is immunocompromised are all very COVID-cautious. We've had all available vaccinations, and wear our N95+ masks *everywhere* except in our homes. In your home, I'll wash my hands, open windows in good weather, and go outside to unmask for water breaks and so forth.
