Pet care experience

Loving dog home!

Welcoming dogs in our home is not a job, it's pure passion! I've been a dog-lover my entire life. In my 20's, I volunteered at the Dumb Friend's League (Humane Colorado) and adopted 2 dogs during that experience. I've adopted 5 dogs over the past 25 years and I've personally trained them all. I'm the person friends and family contact for dog care when they're going on vacation. A house is not a home without dogs!

Stephanie is an absolute angel!! I am scared if I say too much about how much we love her she will be booked out for eternity! But seriously, the moment I met Stephanie I knew she had a deep love for animals which also extended into a warmth and compassion for the parents of those puppers as well. Our Luci has done a few day trips and had an overnight building up to our big 4 day boarding with her. By the 2nd visit, Luci was wagging her tail excited to see her. The big 4-day stay Luci happily went with Stephanie into her home and didn't look back. It made that hard moment for me so so so much easier. I kept thinking, at least she's with Stephanie and the pups there having a blast and getting lots of love. We received videos and photos everyday, we called them "Luci Drops" because we would get them throughout the day and yes, on vacation they might have been what we looked forward to most. It's truly such a kind, compassionate thing to do. She knows we're worried and miss her and it was those updates that made it all okay. Luci was so happy when saw her, and almost a little bitter with us when we got home, for A) not seeing her for 4 days, and for B) having a clearly less fun house compared to Aunty Stephanie's. We are so grateful to have found Stephanie and truly trust her with our baby. I know Luci is very excited for her next visit over there! Thank you so so so much for taking care of our Luci and letting us know she's loved while we're gone. We have a little thank you for you next time we see you!! <3

Another great stay for Chloe with Stephanie! I felt so bad as a dog mom leaving her for her first birthday but Stephanie made it a point to make her feel extra special. Chloe always has a blast there making friends and being active!

Stephanie is amazing! She is so patient and caring. Our puppy had an amazing time at her place. Stephanie sent daily videos and lots of pictures, which gave us peace of mind while we were away for two weeks. We’ve already booked her again for our next trip. Highly recommend!!

Schedule

After 17 years, I just closed a youth-based nonprofit that I founded. Through Rover, I am fulfilling my passion for pups! We treat our canine guests the way we'd want ours to be treated. This means we do not leave our furry friends unsupervised AT ANY TIME. Between my husband and I, one of us is always home. If we both need to be somewhere, we call in reinforcements (usually our adult children). We want our guests to have a fun, sleep-away camp type of adventure, so we are very active and playful, making sure to also build in down time so they aren't exhausted. You can expect to receive updates with pictures and videos 2-3 times per day.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a spacious home where dogs of all sizes are welcome. Our large yard has a 5-foot high fence and shady areas. We live on a corner lot where dogs can watch the world go by through the fence. Pretzel, our 85-pound, gentle giant, LOVES dogs of all sizes. He is mellow overall, but will wrestle with big dogs who enjoy that type of play. With small dogs he likes to play chase or just hang out. He adapts quickly to the personalities and sizes of our dog guests. The dogs can go in and out through the dog door, however, new friends will not be left outside unsupervised until I'm 100% sure that the pups are thriving with one another and that they're not eating rocks, sticks, plants, etc. Very small dogs will NEVER be left outside without supervision. I have experience giving dogs injections and medications. Our guests are welcome to sleep anywhere they'd like in our home.

Pets

A typical day

We will play whatever your dog enjoys, pet them, snuggle on the couch if that's their happy place, walk them and do whatever makes them feel loved, comforted and safe. Our neighborhood is a dog utopia. There are miles of open space trails and creeks that we typically walk 1-2 times a day.
