Pet care experience

Loving dog home!

Welcoming dogs in our home is not a job, it's pure passion! I've been a dog-lover my entire life. In my 20's, I volunteered at the Dumb Friend's League (Humane Colorado) and adopted 2 dogs during that experience. I've adopted 5 dogs over the past 25 years and I've personally trained them all. I'm the person friends and family contact for dog care when they're leaving town. A house is not a home without dogs!

Stephanie took incredible care of our dog, Winston. She sent multiple photos and updates every day, so we felt totally at ease. Winston had a great time, stayed active, and was well supervised while playing with other dogs. We came back to a happy, relaxed pup, and will definitely book with her again!

When our dog, Lucy, was reluctant to eat and was a bit timid around the other dogs, Stephanie went the extra mile to entice Lucy to eat and to make her feel comfortable. We got plenty of daily updates and photos. Our experience with Stephanie was terrific, and we will not hesitate to have Lucy stay there again.

Schedule

After 17 years, I just closed a youth-based nonprofit that I founded. Through Rover, I am fulfilling my passion for pups! We treat our canine guests the way we'd want our dog to be treated. This means we do not leave the dogs unsupervised AT ANY TIME. Between my husband and I, one of us is always home. If we both need to be somewhere, we call in reinforcements (usually our adult children). We want our guests to have a fun, sleep-away camp type of adventure, so we are very active and playful, making sure to also build in down time so they aren't exhausted. You can expect to receive updates with pictures and/or videos 2-3 times per day.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a spacious home where dogs of all sizes are welcome. Our large yard has a 5-foot high fence and shady areas. We live on a corner lot where dogs can watch the world go by through the fence. Pretzel, our 85-pound, gentle giant, LOVES dogs of all sizes. He is mellow overall, but will wrestle with big dogs who enjoy that type of play. With small, even teeny tiny dogs he likes to play chase or just hang out. He adapts quickly to the personalities and sizes of our dog guests. The dogs can go in and out through the dog door, however, new friends will not be left outside unsupervised until I'm 100% sure that the pups are thriving with one another and that they're not eating rocks, sticks, plants, etc. Small dogs will NEVER be left outside without supervision. I have experience giving dogs injections and medications. Our guests are welcome to sleep anywhere they'd like in our home.

Pets

A typical day

We will play whatever your dog enjoys, pet them to their heart's content, snuggle on the couch if that's their happy place, walk them, play fetch and tug and do whatever makes them feel loved, comforted and safe. Our neighborhood is a dog utopia. There are miles of open space trails and creeks that we typically walk 1-2 times a day.

Let me know if your dog is anxious in new environments, what their preferred activities are, if they have any dietary or behavior issues (excessive barking, food or toy aggression, etc.) and how they may respond to being with other dog-friendly pups.
