Pet care experience

Critter Companion

Residential pet and property care is different than sending your animal to a boarding facility or relying on daily check-ins. With boarding, you can't guarantee your pet receives the individual attention they need or maintains their home routine. With quick visits, there's no real security presence or time to notice if something's wrong. As an independent pet and property caretaker, my mission is to provide estate-level care that gives you complete peace of mind—your pets stay comfortable in their own home, and your property is truly looked after, not just checked on. I've been caring for animals since I was 10 years old—yes, 10! What started as a young girl's passion (slight obsession, honestly) turned into 13 years of trusted, professional pet care. I've cared for everything from easy-going family dogs to high-maintenance breeds requiring special medical attention, and for periods ranging from long weekends to month-long stays, including major holidays. What clients tell me sets me apart is my ability to really read animals—I pick up on subtle changes in behavior, body language, and those little cues that tell you something's off before it becomes a problem. I'm not just going through the motions; I genuinely love what I do, and that enthusiasm shows in how I care for your pets and home. Over the years, I've built long-lasting relationships with both pets and their owners because I treat every home like my own and every pet like family. My husband and I work as a team for overnight stays, which means double the attention, playtime, and eyes on your property. I specialize in situations that require extra care and attention: ✓ Special needs and senior pets – blind, deaf, mobility-challenged, or behaviorally complex animals ✓ Complex medication schedules – pills, injections, eye drops, you name it ✓ High-maintenance breeds – Breeds requiring special care, require extensive grooming, intense exercise, and dedicated training. ✓ Extended stays – comfortable caring for your pets for weeks or even months at a time ✓ Holiday care – I don't disappear during Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's when you need help most ✓ Medical monitoring – recognizing early signs of illness, decline, or distress ✓ Multi-pet households – managing different personalities, feeding schedules, and needs ✓ Emergency response – calm under pressure, quick to act if something goes wrong ✓ Anxious or reactive pets – patient, consistent care that helps nervous animals feel secure I maintain your home just as carefully—mail, plants, trash bins, security checks, and that "lived-in" presence that keeps your property safe. You'll receive regular photo and video updates so you can truly relax while you're away. If you're looking for someone who will love and protect your pets (and home) like their own, let's connect.

Safety, trust & environment

In Your Home: I've been around animals literally since I was an infant—they've always been my comfort, my joy, and honestly, my obsession. There's something about the presence of animals that just feels like home to me, and that's exactly the energy I bring to your pets and property. As the owner of a young, energetic Miniature Australian Shepherd, I know firsthand what it takes to meet the demands of intelligent, high-energy breeds. I'm devoted to keeping my own dog mentally stimulated, physically tired, and emotionally fulfilled—and I bring that same level of commitment to every pet in my care. Your pets aren't just a job to me; they're loved and treated with the same compassion and attention I give my own. Pet Safety & Care: ✓I follow your routines exactly—feeding times, medication schedules, exercise patterns, and house rules ✓Secure all doors, windows, and gates before letting pets outside (no escape artists on my watch!) ✓Keep toxic plants, foods, and hazards out of reach ✓Monitor pets closely for any changes in behavior, appetite, or health ✓Have your vet information and emergency contacts readily accessible ✓Never introduce your pets to unfamiliar animals or people without permission ✓Provide the mental stimulation and physical activity your pets need to stay happy and healthy Home Security & Cleanliness: ✓Maintain a "lived-in" presence with lights, blinds, and your normal routine ✓Collect mail and packages to avoid signaling an empty home ✓Take trash bins to/from curb on collection days ✓Water plants and maintain your home's appearance ✓Provide regular photo/video updates so you can see everything (and everyone) is doing great ✓I pride myself on attention to detail and cleanliness—you'll come home to a thoroughly cleaned space that exceeds expectations Trust & Respect: I treat your home with the utmost respect—no unauthorized guests ever and I leave your space cleaner than I found it. My husband and I work as a team, which means your pets get double the love and your home gets double the oversight. The best part? When you walk through that door after your trip, your pets will be more giddy than ever to see you—well-exercised, well-loved, and so happy you're home. And you can relax knowing everything was handled with care.

Stephanie is reliable, caring, trustworthy, and an animal lover. She's done multi-day stretches of watching our 3 huskies and 3 cats on multiple occasions and we never have to worry when she's here. Your furry family member(s) will be in great hands with Steph! We'll definitely ask her to watch our pets again and would recommend her to anyone.

Stephanie is my go-to pet sitter, I have used her services multiple times while out of town for extended periods of time. My dog is a “special needs” kind-of dog…the kind of dog not everyone can handle; he is an oversized dog with separation anxiety. Stephanie has an ease about her while also in charge…simply amazing. She would take him on extended walks, sit and hold him while at the house and took wonderful care of him. She pays attention to detail not only with the dog but would leave the house looking tidy. I give Stephanie a five star rating!

Schedule

Pet care isn't a side hustle for me—it's my primary focus and passion. My husband and I are entrepreneurs with flexible schedules, which means we can provide the kind of attentive, present care that pets truly need. For overnight stays, we're in your home from evening through the following morning (and throughout the day if needed), so your pets are never alone for extended periods. We don't juggle multiple clients at once or rush between appointments. When we commit to caring for your pets, they have our full attention for the duration of your trip. We're available for extended stays including weekends, holidays, and even month-long commitments. Because we work as a team, your pets benefit from having two consistent caregivers who can coordinate schedules, provide extra play sessions, and ensure someone is always nearby if needed.
