When caring for pets in their own home, my top priorities are safety, trust, and maintaining a calm, familiar environment. I follow your pet’s routine closely—from feeding schedules to walks, litter care, and medications—so their day feels as normal and predictable as possible while you’re away. When I'm at home with my pets, we're usually lounging on the couch or rolling in the dirt in the backyard. I have a fuzzy robe that you'll probably notice in a lot of my photos- it's soft and also big enough to accommodate various dogs, kittens and even birds if anyone wants to snuggle! I’m very attentive to body language, stress signals, and changes in behavior, and I adjust my approach to meet each pet where they are. I move slowly, respect boundaries, and always prioritize secure doors, leashes, and safe handling. I’m also mindful about keeping the home environment clean, quiet, and low-stress. Trust and communication are important to me, so I provide thoughtful updates and photos to give you peace of mind. My goal is for you to feel confident that your pets—and your home—are being cared for with the same attention and respect I give my own.

Before a booking, I love learning as much as possible about your pet so I can provide the best care. Helpful things to know include daily routines, feeding schedules, medications, and any quirks or preferences—favorite toys, walking habits, or cozy nap spots. I also appreciate honesty about anything that might affect your pet’s comfort or safety, such as fears, triggers, medical needs, resource guarding, or leash reactivity. Please don’t worry about “scaring me away”—my goal is to understand your pet, not judge them. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can support their well-being and keep things calm and predictable. There’s no such thing as too much information, and I’m always happy to talk through details or concerns.

A typical day is all about keeping your pet’s routine familiar while making sure they’re comfortable, engaged, and having a little fun. For dogs, that usually means relaxed walks, plenty of sniff time, play, and calm companionship—always tailored to their energy level and personality. I love adding mental enrichment, whether that’s gentle training reinforcement, puzzle toys, or a good old-fashioned sniffari. For cats, the day might include interactive play, window watching, brushing (if they’re into it), and respectful check-ins—plus slow blinks and quiet company for cats who prefer to supervise rather than participate. Across all pets, I aim for a happy balance: activity when it’s wanted, rest when it’s needed, and lots of attention to comfort and emotional well-being. My goal is for every pet to feel relaxed, cared for, and right at home while you’re away.

I've had a lifetime of experience caring for dogs, cats, kittens, and other small animals, including birds, fish, hamsters, and even hedgehogs. I’m comfortable with dogs of all temperaments as well as puppies, senior pets, and dogs who need a little extra patience or a calm, predictable routine. I currently have 2 dogs (Magnolia and Loretta), 4 cats (Archie, Ozzie, Fergus, and Fiadh - the latter two I've had since they were wee babies of just 2 weeks... complete foster fails!), a Golden Capped Conure named Gus, and two freshwater fish tanks full of shrimp and various fish. I am most comfortable and definitely happiest when surrounded by animals. I’ve worked in a busy animal care environment and have extensive hands-on experience with hundreds of dogs, all with different personalities and comfort levels. I've had professional training regarding body language and stress signals. Because of that, I always take a gentle, thoughtful approach—especially when caring for pets in their own home where they feel safest. I also know how to safely deescalate many different situations as well as best practices to help dogs who are reactive, leash pullers, or even have separation anxiety. What sets me apart is the care and intention I bring to every visit. I only move at your pet’s pace, follow their routine closely, and focus on making them feel secure, relaxed, and truly cared for while you’re away. I love making new dog friends and learning all their quirks, and i always talk to the dogs in my care as if they fully understand me- because I swear they do!

Stephanie is amazing! During our meet and greet she made me feel so comfortable leaving my babies in her care. Love all her experience she has with animals and my pups loved her!
