Retreat with friendly Lab co-host
I am a corporate professional working remotely from my home in Balerno, where I live with my co-host, Spencer: a gentle and incredibly friendly Black Labrador. Spencer loves making new friends, so your pet will enjoy lots of canine socialisation along with loving human companionship. I offer a premium home-boarding experience right on the edge of the countryside. If you are looking for a loving alternative to traditional kennels where your dog can play, walk, and sleep alongside a sweet resident Lab, this is the perfect home-away-from-home. I have had family dogs since childhood and am therefore very experienced with training and caring for dogs of all ages and varying breeds. My (very chilled!) 10-year-old son has also grown up around dogs and he loves their company as much as I do. I am delighted to be able to offer a welcoming and comfortable environment where you can be assured that your dog will be very well cared for as a member of the family 🥰

My dog, Hopper, had a brilliant week with Stephanie and Spencer. We got some photos and videos of him out and about on his walks, he looked like he was having a blast 😍

Schedule
Our location is a wonderful playground for dogs! I have incredible walks right on my doorstep, which are tailored to their energy levels. The Pentland Hills provide energetic trail walks and hill hikes, whilst the Water of Leith is ideal for shaded riverside strolls.

Safety, trust & environment
My Labrador is fantastic with other dogs of all sizes, making it incredibly easy for guest dogs to settle in and feel secure. To ensure total harmony, I always host a meet-and-greet beforehand to make sure our dogs get along perfectly. Our home is smoke-free and highly secure. I prioritise safety and comfort. My large secure garden is fully enclosed, and completely dog-friendly. Your dog will enjoy full, unrestricted access to the warm living spaces of our family home.

A typical day
Working from home in my primary corporate role during the week, I don't follow a rigid schedule - instead, I can adapt around what your dog needs. Regular toilet breaks and walks in the local area will be provided. At weekends, Spencer and I typically enjoy the long hill or riverside walks which are on our doorstep. Evenings are always spent cuddling on the sofa! Having my friendly resident Black Labrador means our home is naturally set up for a smooth, relaxed canine routine, but I treat every guest dog as an individual.
