🐾Seasoned Dog Mom 🥰🐶

Hi! My name is Stephanie, and I’m a lifelong dog lover and pet sitter. I started dog sitting on Rover as a way to work on my writing during grad school. It’s been such a lovely, fun experience that five years have passed since graduation and I’m still on Rover. I've been dog sitting since I was 9 years old (I even started my own “neighborhood business” when I was 12), and I like to think I have a knack for it. I'm a caring, dedicated, and attentive sitter -- think “Upper East Side dog mom meets Brooklyn creative type." If I haven't lost you yet (fair chance), I promise that was the worst of it. I work from home so I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pup while you are away. I strive to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease, dog(s) and humans alike. I favor open communication with owners and have experience with all kinds of breeds and temperaments. I like to know personality quirks, triggers (leash sensitivity, separation anxiety, etc.) and daily routines beforehand so I can ensure your dog’s needs are met. I prefer to meet new clients in person to make sure it’s a good match (*wearing a mask is a good sign), and I’ve been fortunate to meet some really great people along the way. I am happy for any excuse to stretch my legs and meander on long walks through the city (unofficial exercise of NYC) and enjoy trotting pups over to the local dog park for a game of fetch. I’m also more than happy to stay in and watch a movie together on the couch. I'm flexible, patient, and take every precaution to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Think of this as leaving your dog at grandma's house. A little indulgent at times, but in excellent, caring hands. I want owners to feel at ease knowing their dog is in my care. I am happy to send daily pictures and as many updates as you need over the course of my stay so that you feel comfortable (just let me know how much communication you favor). I believe being attentive to a dog’s individual needs goes a very long way to creating happy, healthy, and well-behaved pups. I look forward to hearing from you! 😊

Stephanie is the best!!! She's kind, reliable, a great communicator and was so sweet to my pup. I used Stephanie every week for 6 months straight and would have continued if I wasn't moving out of state. Idk what I would have done without her! She made me so much less stressed about leaving my dog for work. You won't regret hiring Stephanie for your pup!

Stephanie was wonderful with my Cooper; he loved her From the very beginning of the meet and greet - I know he could sense she’s a real animal lover. As far as we were concerned, she was professional and trustworthy. Came to the house on time and sent pictures of their little “play date”. Definitely a great find for pet owners

We are so happy we picked Stephanie to house sit our dog, Ripken. We were very anxious for our first time leaving him with a "stranger", but Stephanie suggested we meet beforehand and they became buddies right away. Stephanie was communicative and respectful during her weekend at our home with Ripken. She sent lots of pictures and updates, and Ripken seemed very relaxed with her. We will definitely book with her again!

Stephanie took care of my pup, Ollie, while I was away on vacation and was wonderful! She came over the day before to get to know Ollie, his schedule, habits, preferences, etc and was incredibly attentive throughout her entire stay. I got updates and photos often! :) I will definitely use Stephanie again and highly recommend her services for anyone else and their pup!

A typical day

I enjoy frolicking outside and and throwing slobbery toys around, so provided that your pup is socialized, I would love to take them on excursions to the local dog park! I also give excellent belly rubs and plenty of cuddles.

No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Takes only 1 client at a time
Stephanie can host up to 1 pet per night
I like to know if they get they get any separation anxiety, and what soothing strategies work best for your dog. Some dogs are more social or attached to their owner(s) than others, but consistency and re-conditioning can minimize the anxiety of separation. I also like to know if they have any leash habits or triggers I should know about, how they interact other dogs, and if they exhibit any specific problem behaviors (ex. chewing, barking, marking, etc.) so that I can keep an eye out for them. Knowing their habits allows me to understand them better. I mean, I get it— their favorite human is away!
