As a firefighter for the city of Nanaimo, my schedule is quite flexible. My days off rotate weekly and I can be available to walk or look after your pups almost any given day of the week.

Whether your dog is a high-energy adventurer who needs to burn off steam or a more reserved companion who prefers a leisurely stroll, I adapt my approach to suit them. This also means I'm constantly aware of their body language and surroundings, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. I understand the importance of sticking to a routine, and you'll always be informed about our walks, from pick-up to drop-off, and how your dog enjoyed their time. I treat every dog as if they were my own, prioritizing their well-being above all else. I incorporate playtime, mental stimulation, and plenty of positive reinforcement into our outings. From navigating busy streets safely to exploring local trails, I ensure your dog gets the exercise and engagement they need to be happy and healthy.

Pet care experience
I have had the pleasure of being apart of 3 different puppies lives, helping out with my housemates huskies, bernadoodles, and labs and have taken an active role while they grew up. Whenever their owners were away, I was always there to step in and watch over them.

Stephan has taken great care of our dog over several years. We are so thankful for Stephan’s ease at managing our dog’s bouncy and rambunctious energy. It isn’t easy finding someone that is comfortable managing a young, large, and high energy dog. We can always trust that Stephan takes good care of our dog by balancing a bit of training with fun and energetic outings.
Stephan is friendly, responsible, and is much loved by our dog. We have a Brittany Spaniel named Nellie who Stephan has looked after when we’re away. Nellie is high energy and Stephan is great at meeting all her exercise needs. We really appreciate having someone trustworthy and know Nellie is well cared for and loved while we’re away!
Stephan walked and babysat Charlie for us regularly for 3 years. He was always on time and took very good care of him. He was a good handler especially because Charlie is nervous around other dogs and can be aggressive so he can be a lot to manage. Stephan had good authoritative control but also was very respectful and playful with Charlie. Charlie was always happy to see him and I would recommend Stephan to anyone for walking or boarding/babysitting their dog.
I can’t say enough good things about Stephan! He’s been walking my dog Charlie for 5 years, and I’ve been consistently impressed with his reliability, communication, and genuine love for dogs. My dog absolutely adores him — tail wags and excitement every time he shows up! Stephan is incredibly attentive, always updating me with quick notes or pictures after walks, which gives me peace of mind. Rain or shine, I know Charlie is in great hands. You can tell he takes the job seriously and truly cares. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and kind to your pet, I highly recommend Stephan. He has been a lifesaver!
