I have had my fair share of cautious and shy cats and dogs some were my fur babies, and some I have cared for, for others. I understand pets need to take their time in getting to know someone. I will let them take as much time as they need, while encouraging them to come say hello with treats, my voice or toys depending on the animal. I will let them come to me at their pace. I enjoy caring for or walking senior dogs and cats the most, however, I am more than happy to care for the youngins to. Despite their age, senior fur babies can still have some sass and I aspire to be the same at an older age!
Information Steph G. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know of any: - Allergies - Dietary restrictions - Temperament around humans and other dogs - If they are prone to tiring quickly - Basic commands they know (any commands you'd like to practice on walks) - Toys (or comfort toys) to bring with them on walks And of course, anything else you feel would make them feel safe and comfortable.
A typical day
I love to let your fur baby sniff and explore the world around them, taking in all the smells and stopping as many times as they like! I have all the patience in the world for a fur baby who wants to take their time enjoying their surroundings. Where ever your furbaby likes to go on your walks, we will go, just as we are getting to know each other. Unless they are adventurous and are ready to try new places, Ill google local hot spots for dog parks where they can splash around in the water, meet other interesting dogs and creatures (squirrels, birds, etc.) or depending on the dogs needs- walk for a bit and I can carry their royal highness the rest of the way.

Pet care experience
When my friend asked me too look after her chicken (yes you read that right), I realized I needed to do what I love, spend more time with animals! Walking animals is a great way to help the fur babies get their exercise as well as help me with my fitness goals, its a win win all around! I graduated with a Veterinary Assistant Diploma from MBC in 2014. This helped me make more informed decisions for my pets and made me more confident in taking care of others pets as well. I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby!

Reviews

Steph is Fantastic! She has taken care of my cat 2x before and when he saw her as she picked up the keys to my place, he was so excited. That says a lot to me about her standard of care for my kitty as he doesn't get that excited for any other of my visitors. My cat recently developed type 1 diabetes :( since Steph's last visit so he now needs insulin injections 2x per day. Steph having education as a veterinary assistant and experience with this was able to provide her usual standard of care and administer the medication. I was so grateful. I didn't realize she had these skills until this visit. I just thought she was excellent with my kitty. So it really took my stress of travelling away knowing that my cat was in excellent care. Thank you again Steph. I am moving away and wish you were available where I am going. I hope you get excellent clients and open your own service or clinic someday soon.

Steph was amazing as per usual, she even came for an extra visit last minute! My cats love her and I plan on booking her again next time I’m out of town 😊

I was so happy that Steph was availble to watch my kitty again! She did such a great job last time and this time! So professional and accomodating. The detailed messages she left me for each drop in visit really set my mind at ease as I left my cat in her care. I came home to a happy relaxed kitty :) . The best part is I can trust my home and my cat with her. Thank you again Steph!

This is the second time we had Steph cat sit for us. The cats clearly love her and we feel much more comfortable going away knowing she's stopping in on them! She left us very detailed notes and a lot of pictures. Highly recommend her!
