Dog care work is a significant part of my life. I get so much out of house sitting that I am naturally inclined to spend as much time as possible with the pooch(es) I am looking after. The one requirement I have is the dog(s) I stay with are comfortable being left alone for 3 hours; and depending on the location of their home relative to mine, possibly 4 hours.

A typical day
I celebrate the individuality of the dogs I stay with each and every day via making sure they participate in the activities that light them up! There are so many options: snuggling, hanging out with me, receiving pets, giving kisses, following me around, going for walks, playing fetch, romping in the house or yard… and I pay attention to their energy while also keeping in mind what they are comfortable with to recognize what is the perfect mix of activities for them.

Individualized Care Is My Thing
Pet care experience
Dog sitting professionally is the first job I have had in my life where I get to totally and completely be me. I didn’t realize this was going to become the case when I first started. I was looking for work that would support me in learning to love myself and it turned into something beyond what I imagined. I slowly and steadily uncovered the unique bond I share with dogs and why, for me, they are such a safe place to be myself. I lost my twin brother at eight weeks old; I was left vulnerable, stuck with unresolved identity trauma, who am I without my twin and seeing the world through the eyes of a baby, everything is energy. Infants communicate through energy and gestures and are unable to verbalize their thoughts, feelings, etc., what a pooch always does. The more I spent time with dogs, the more I was able to find my way back to myself, who I was before losing my twin. Eventually, the words came to me, being with dogs reminded me of what it was like to flow in love like I was able to do before losing my twin. This connection was familiar and in time accepted this was my dream for my life, to be able to experience this reciprocity again. And with dogs now, it has become second nature. So, for me, giving individualized care is a given and so is receiving their unique type of love. This exchange of energy makes everyone’s hearts happy! I am of most service house sitting with dogs while their human family is away. I enjoy putting in the time and effort to truly get to know each pooch fully and ensure their unique needs are met. Witnessing the dogs I look after happy with the care that I give them and their human family happy, too, is my pleasure! Plus, I enjoy sharing daily updates, especially through a picture that highlights what makes the dogs I stay with one-of-a-kind.
Reviews

Once again, Stella has exceeded my expectations in caring for my sweet pup and my home. I was out of the country in an extended stay and Stella’s updates and photos were so reassuring. She is such an incredibly warm and intuitive person, I have full trust in leaving my most cherished little girl with her.
Stella is the best! We are repeat customers we are so happy with how she takes care of our dog. I would rate her one of the best pet and house sitters ever.

Stella took great care of our animals and our home. She is very caring and detail oriented

Another fantastic housesitting stay for our 15 month old dog, Bettina! Stella is super responsible and personable, and, importantly, keeps our active dog busy. Our house looked much cleaner than we left it, and we received detailed notes and photos. Bettina was wild with affection when Stella arrived. I think that says it all!!
