Hello fellow pet owner! I'm Britt. :) I've been pet sitting for years; what started as a favor to friends and family soon turned to people coming to my day job and saying, "Hey, are you the girl that pet sits?" Everyone I pet sat for knew their pets would be as loved and spoiled as my own. My over-nighters also really liked the fact they knew they'd come home to a clean house. (and some of my regulars even came home to baked goods if they were away during the holidays) In my years of pet sitting I have cared for mostly adult cats and dogs, with the occasional puppy, kitten, fish, and chickens. Yep, chickens. I've dealt with under socialized dogs and dogs that regularly attended doggy daycare. I've fished "gifts" from cats out from under the bed, patched up any scrapes or boo-boos from super curious and high energy puppies, dealt with upset tummies, given lots of baths, and soothed dogs during fireworks. I've helped puppies get into a routine or kept older dogs on a routine. I've even been there when an animal has been put down as a favor to a family who couldn't be present because they didn't want their young children involved. Personally, I own a retired police K9 I jokingly like to say I'm "teaching to dog." He's definitely come with his own unique challenges, but is a great example of how putting time, care, and energy into an animal will result in unwavering love and trust in return. And, okay, yeah, my goal in life is to make every dog I meet love me. Not a bad goal, right? :)
