I have loved animals ever since I was young, and got my first pet when I was five years old - a pet hamster named Brownie! Since then, I have rarely lived without some sort of pet around. Over the years I have had dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, parakeets, lovebirds, iguanas, rats, and even a duck once! They all had their own unique personalities, providing different experiences, and each one I loved. For dogs in particular, I have experience raising pups ranging from a 6lb chihuahua to a 75lb rottweiler mix, from puppy age to seniors. I also have experience with health-poor and disabled dogs, including my own dog who has been blind for 8 years. I also have a lot of patience and love to give, so I am typically able to do well with anxious or nervous dogs too. My experience with cats goes back about 12 years when I first adopted two littermates. Along with taking care of my own cats, I have also fostered here and there so have experience with a lot of different kitties, taking care of kittens as young as a month old up to senior age. I also regularly feed the strays in my neighborhood, plus capturing and neutering when able, so have experience with handling the not-so-friendly (but still perfect) kitties as well.
