I’ve been caring for friends’ and family members’ pets for as long as I can remember, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal’s personality and routine. I focus primarily on dog walking and drop-in visits for both dogs and cats, and I take pride in being dependable, attentive, and easy to communicate with. I have some experience caring for pets with special needs, including administering insulin injections to a diabetic cat on a strict 12-hour schedule. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and making sure routines are maintained consistently. My wife and I live with our very spoiled 20-year-old chinchilla, Squirt, who I’ve raised since grade school, so I understand long-term commitment and attentive care. While our current rental doesn’t allow dogs or cats, Rover gives me the opportunity to spend time with them and make sure they get the exercise, attention, and care they deserve.

When caring for pets in a client’s home, I aim to keep everything as consistent and stress-free as possible by following your pet’s usual routine closely. I’m attentive to details like feeding schedules, exercise needs, medications, and any specific instructions you provide. On walks, I prioritize safety with secure leashing, awareness of surroundings, and adjusting pace and distance based on your dog’s energy level, age, and temperament. I double-check harnesses and collars before heading out and stay mindful of things like open gates or unexpected distractions. I also pay close attention to small but important factors like hot pavement that can hurt paws, weather conditions, and avoiding unsafe surfaces or situations. For drop-in visits, I make sure pets get not just the basics, but also attention and engagement, whether that’s playtime, enrichment, or simply keeping them company. I’m careful about entry and exit to ensure pets stay secure, and I’ll always make sure doors, gates, and crates are properly closed before leaving. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and photos so you know how your pet is doing. I treat every home with respect and make sure things are left exactly as I found them.

Spenser began walking my Corgi recently and my pup loves him. Spenser is very personable and gives off a good, calm vibe. My puppy and I are very glad to have connected with him.
Spenser is reliable, communicative, and cares a lot about the animals he interacts with. I’ve seen how quickly dogs warm up to him. His calm energy and kindness make dogs feel comfortable and safe right away. Spenser also is great at reading a dog’s body language, respecting their boundaries, and making sure they feel happy and engaged. Any dog would be lucky to spend time with him!
Spenser watched our two cats for a week recently (one of which is diabetic and required twice-daily insulin shots) and did a great job. He kept our home clean, picked up after the cats, and took care of them like they were his own. Highly recommended.

Schedule
I work remotely in a part-time role, which affords me the flexibility to walk or check in on your pet(s) any time during your busy work week. I’m typically available during standard work hours, with flexibility in the mornings and afternoons depending on your pet’s needs.
