Doctor-meets-dog mom
In 2019, I finally acted on my lifelong love of animals by fostering for a local shelter. In this role, I had the privilege of opening my home to shelter dogs from all backgrounds, ranging from puppies to seniors and sizes small to large. This experience taught me training techniques and how to adapt to the needs of the pup in front of me. It also inspired me to become a dog mom myself (enter Minnie, who is featured in my profile picture!). As a sitter on Rover, I hope to add to the joyous experiences that I've had taking care of other dogs, and I promise to provide the same excellent level of care that I would want for my own pup. My goal is to care for your dog as you would, so please give me any and all of your notes, and I'll apply them diligently! Your dog's experience is paramount to me - that is why I also limit my sits to just one dog at a time, and I only accept bookings when my schedule allows me to be home 24/7.

Soumya was wonderful! She was very flexible to schedule a meet and greet to make sure my reactive pup got along with her own sweet dog. The meet and greet went very well and Soumya had a list of questions prepared to ask me! I felt very comfortable the whole time I was away and Tucker came back a very happy dog!

Schedule
I am a doctor whose schedule changes as frequently as every two weeks, so if I haven't updated my Rover calendar, the best way to know my schedule for a given week is to message me directly. However, in general, I am free on weekday evenings and weekend days and evenings; I only make myself available for Rover sits when I know I can be home 24/7.

My approach to dog care is based on building trust through training, play, and frequent engagement, so if I have the privilege of caring for your dog, I would be happy to practice any training that you wish and to be very present (e.g., taking him/her on walks or hikes, to dog parks, etc.).

A typical day
We'll start our mornings with belly rubs, a walk, and playtime. Our afternoons will be spontaneous with room for any adventure that you're comfortable with your dog having (e.g., going on a hike or to a dog park). Our evenings will likely mirror our mornings with more room for training and downtime. However, this schedule is completely customizable for the betterment of your dog and for your peace of mind, so if there is anything in particular that you'd like your dog to do each day, I'm happy to accommodate it.

- Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, health concerns, problem behaviors, or reactivity (e.g., to leashes, dogs, etc.) as well as if he/she takes medication regularly and how it is administered. I'd also like to know how well crate- and house-trained your dog is and what a typical day at home looks like for him/her, as I want to replicate that as much as possible for your pup while you're away.
