I’ve loved dogs from a young age and had my own Cocker Spaniel from the age of 10, so I’m very familiar with the care, attention and companionship dogs need. I also have several years of experience caring for other people’s dogs through Rover, including regular and ad-hoc walks, drop-ins, house sitting and boarding. I’ve looked after dogs of all different breeds and sizes, with each dog having their own personality, routine and needs. I’m comfortable caring for puppies too, including puppies as young as 15 weeks old. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine, whether that means lots of walks and playtime or simply keeping them company and giving them plenty of cuddles. I’m happy to pick up and drop off dogs from your home where needed. Whilst your dog is in my care, I will keep you updated with regular messages and plenty of photos, so you can relax knowing they’re happy and well looked after.

Lucy was very well looked after and cared for with plenty of exercise and attention I cannot praise Sophie enough and provided us with plenty of photos/videos and feedback during her stay I highly recommend Sophie to anyone looking for dog boarding.
Sophie is so reliable. We had a train to catch and she arrived in plenty of time so ...no panic! Rumble was so pleased to see her.... what a great sign! She is such s good dog sitter .....wonderful!
Dolly and pixie had a wonderful weekend staying with Sophie, and were very relaxed when I came to collect them. Sophie is extremely kind and will happily book again.

Hi, I’m Sophie! I’m a big animal lover and have always loved having pets around me. I grew up with a Cocker Spaniel and have had cats throughout my life, so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I’m naturally caring, patient and outdoorsy, and I love getting out for walks and exploring new places. I’m also quite a homebody, so I’m more than happy spending time at home with a furry companion, whether that’s playing, going for walks or simply having a cosy afternoon together. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, so I’ll always treat them as I would my own. I love getting to know each pet’s individual personality and routine, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. 🐾 I currently work 9–5 Monday to Friday, but I am able to work from home on Tuesdays and Fridays and have the flexibility to work from different locations. This means I’m able to fit pet care around my working day and be more flexible with visits and walks on my WFH days. I’m available for pet care on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. My weekends are particularly flexible, and I can offer walks, drop-ins, house sitting and boarding depending on your dog’s needs. I’m organised and reliable, and I’ll always make sure I have plenty of time to give your pet the attention and care they need rather than trying to fit too much into my schedule.

Safety, trust & environment
For boarding, my home has a large, fully fenced garden and a gated kitchen/dining area with sofas, giving dogs a secure space to relax while still being part of the home. I’m happy for dogs to have free roam of the house and they’re very welcome to make themselves comfortable on the furniture! 🐾 I want them to feel as relaxed and at home as possible during their stay. My home is in the Bridport area, close to West Bay and a variety of lovely walking routes, so there are plenty of opportunities for walks and exploring nearby. I’m also happy to follow your dog’s usual routines and any specific instructions you provide, so they can enjoy a safe and comfortable stay that feels as familiar as possible. I also have a cat who lives with me. She is used to having her own space and, when dogs come to stay, she will generally make herself scarce and keep her distance. I’m happy to give her a separate area of the house so that both your dog and my cat can feel comfortable and have their own space during their stay.

A typical day
I love getting out for a few walks each day, giving your dog plenty of opportunities to explore, sniff and enjoy some new surroundings. When we’re back at home, I’ll have plenty of dog toys around to keep them entertained, whether they fancy a play or a cosy rest. I’m also more than happy to give your dog a wash after a particularly muddy walk, so hopefully they can finish the day happy, clean and thoroughly tired out! 🐾

- I’d love to get to know a little about your dog before their stay or visit, so I can help them feel happy, comfortable and settled. It’s useful to know their personality, habits and preferences, including their favourite toys and games, what they enjoy doing on walks, and how often and how long they’re used to walking. I’d also need to know how they are around other dogs, and whether they’re comfortable being walked alongside other dogs or staying in a home with them. Any routines, quirks or specific needs you can tell me about are always helpful too!
