During the week I work remotely and love to spend my lunch breaks on dog walks. My schedule is free after work and on weekends to plan adventures such as hiking and dog park visits. I promise to treat your pets as my own and make every attempt to stay consistent with their normal routine.

I would like to know if your animal has any medical issues or dietary restrictions/allergies that I should be aware of. Also let me know their temperament and if they have any triggers. Would your dog prefer to socialize with other dogs or would they rather stick to hanging out with humans? Note that I cannot care for dogs with aggressive tendencies. Please provide a standard feeding and walking schedule and let me know what care you expect from me.
A typical day
I love to hang outdoors with dogs and cats. Some of my favorite activities for dogs include hiking Camels Hump, swimming in Lake Champlain and long walks in the woods. Specific activities will of course take into account the dogs abilities and preferences. I also enjoy spending time with older dogs that require slower days and more snuggling than hiking!

Pet care experience
I have extensive experience caring for dogs and other animals. Our family has had 3 Labrador Retrievers throughout my childhood, all of which were my best friends growing up. Neighbors and friends also rely on me to care for their pets while they’re away. I always enjoy exploring Vermont with a doggy companion by my side!

Sophie is great with 12 year old lab. He is always happy to see her. We are greeted by a content and well cared for pup every time we return home. We are so grateful she stays with him when we go away because she noticed ‘he is happier than when she just does drop in visits’. Thank you!
Sophie stayed with our high-energy Border Collie and skittish cats for over a week. This was her second time staying, so we knew the animals were in good hands. Still, we loved getting daily pictures of them confirming it! She took our dog on long walks and she continued to get close to our cats. She's a great communicator and she left the house spotless. It's such a pleasure to come home to happy animals and a well-cared-for home. We highly recommend Sophie and look forward to continuing to hire her when we travel.
Sophie stayed with our Border Collie and 2 cats while we were gone and she was truly wonderful. She gave our pup good long walks and her calm presence even managed to coax our very skittish cat to come out of hiding. She sent lots of pictures and updates, which we really appreciated. We don't leave the animals often, so when we do, it's very comforting to know that they're in good hands. She also left the house in perfect shape. We highly recommend Sophie!
Sophie has been our go-to dog sitter for years now. Maple and Lucy are very energic pups and we can always count on Sophie to make sure they get plenty of exercise while we're away. She sends us daily updates to keep us in the loop and always leaves the house cleaner than she found it. We really appreciate Sophie's help and would absolutely recommend her to others!
