Availability

I’m currently available Wednesdays and weekends all day, and Tuesday afternoons. I’m using this period to get to know dogs gradually through meet-and-greets and walks, so they feel comfortable and settled with me. From July onwards, I will have full-time availability and more flexibility for regular bookings.

Safety, trust & environment

I currently offer dog walking and drop in visits, so I care for pets either in their own home environment or out on walks. When visiting a dog in their home, I aim to keep their routine as consistent and familiar as possible. This includes feeding, toilet breaks, play, and any specific care instructions provided by the owner. On walks, I focus on safety, calm handling, and adapting to each dog’s needs — whether that’s relaxed sniffing walks, more active exercise, or supporting confidence in busier environments.

Pet care experience

I’ve always owned and grown up around dogs and have experience with a wide range of breeds, temperaments, and ages. Over the years I’ve cared for family dogs, puppies, rescue dogs, and dogs needing more patient or structured handling. I’m confident with training, reading behaviour, and helping dogs feel calm and secure. I understand that every dog is different, some need lots of activity and engagement, while others benefit from a gentler, quieter approach. I also have experience supporting older dogs and adapting walks and care to suit their pace and needs. My approach is calm, reliable, and attentive, and I always aim to make dogs feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for.

Sophie has loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Having had many of her own to care for she makes the perfect carer for your furry loved one. My dog was one of her own dogs puppies, and still at the ripe old age of 13 , my pup loves her to bits, and is always keen to see her. She’s a bit of a needy dog, but is calm in Sophie’s presence. I would highly recommend her.

Sophie has always been a dog lover and grew up with an affectionate border collie at home. As a child she spent countless hours teaching her grandfathers dog to behave and obey orders. As a teenager she was regularly in charge of (and fond of) and paid as a friend’s spaniel walker. When she started her own family a dog soon joined that household, he was a well trained protector (herder) of the children. More recently she has successfully bred litters of cockapoo puppies, one of the first has lived in my home for 13 years now, another went on to be a very successful and much loved therapy dog at our local comprehensive school . I am of course Sophie’s dad.

I would happily recommend Sophie to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to walk their dog. She has a natural connection with dogs and a calm, kind personality that animals seem to instantly trust. Sophie genuinely loves being around dogs and treats every one she meets with affection and care. She is patient, relaxed and dependable, and nothing ever seems to faze her, but she can also be great fun. Combined with her active lifestyle and love of walking and running, she makes the perfect companion for dogs of all ages and energy levels. Any dog in Sophie’s care would be well looked after and would thoroughly enjoy their time with her.
