For boarding, I can collect and drop off to your home on request for your convenience. I have a secure fenced small back garden within a larger area which is walled/fenced/hedgerow. dog walks can start from the house as it backs onto fields. (I can provide further details of outside space privately) My family’s 3 year old Labrador retriever may occasionally be staying at the house in a separate area during your dog(s) stay, I can let you know if he will be staying during your booking in advance. He is very kind and gentle if you would like him to interact with your dog(s) during their stay. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate through the night. I can board 1-3 dog(s) at a time from the same household. I can exercise your dogs separately if preferred or all together. I always keep dogs on a lead during walks or a long line (16ft lead) so they are secure but still able to roam and run. If I am in a secure private dog field I will ask for your instruction whether you would like your dog(s) off lead or restricted for any reason, or due to injury/post op recovery. Feeding and sleeping arrangements are specific to each dog, I will keep to their routine/schedule. If you would like to use their own bedding /crates/food bowls/toys/treats etc whilst at boarding you are very welcome. Please let me know any specific details : if you prefer them to sleep freely in an enclosed area of the room with a baby gate or in a crate. Night light/ fan/heater/music required in the room. Toilet runs during the night Medication times -taken in a certain way Feeding routine Exercise schedule. All the above applies to boarding and pet sitting in your home. I will follow your instruction.

A typical day

plenty of activities depending on how much exercise/stimulation you prefer for your dog(s) A classic game of fetch that most dogs love. Tennis ball, frisbee, or their favourite toy for endless entertainment. Hide and Seek: Hiding treats or toys around the room or garden for them to find. It engages their sense of smell and provides mental enrichment. Interactive Toys: Kongs and treat dispenser toys are great especially as it requires your dog to work for their reward, keeping them entertained and mentally stimulated. Paddling: If your dog enjoys water, there’s some local ponds/lakes/streams they will love to play in helping to burn off some energy or cool of in the summer. Right on our doorstep is an endless amount of woodland walks so there’s plenty of exploring to do providing mental and physical stimulation. There’s also a number of private dog walking fields close by if you’d prefer a secure field for your pup to experience, some provide the basic agility equipment. subject to availability with additional hire fee, please let me know if this is something you would like to book) If your senior dogs prefer the quiet life, they can cuddle up onto the sofa with a movie or some relaxation music and snooze for hours after a short 20 minute loop around the local woodland footpath if this is more suitable for them.

Compassionate and Reliable Care for your Dogs

Pet care experience

Having grown up surrounded by dogs, I understand that they're more than just pets; they're cherished members of the family. From tiny to towering breeds, each with unique needs, I've had over 18 years personal experience looking after family & friends dogs whilst they are away, as well as chickens, ferrets and a cat, I have owned my own wire-haired Jack Russell Terrier and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Rottweiler. From puppies to seniors my approach is rooted in compassion and patience, whether your dog is timid, excitable, or has specific behavioural traits like food or dog reactivity. I prioritise their well-being, ensuring they feel secure and loved, granting you peace of mind while you're away. My expertise extends to caring for senior dogs with specialised dietary needs and medication schedules (as my own girl had health problems that required daily medication/monitoring as she got older). I'm meticulous about maintaining their routines, whether they need to attend vet appointments/physiotherapy/hydrotherapy during their stay just let me know. If they require a crate or a cozy playpen for rest and relaxation, a serene open space, a particular Spotify playlist, TV during the day or Furbo video recordings sent to you, keeping them content and you connected. Your dog's comfort and happiness are my top priorities, and I'm dedicated to accommodating their every requirement, no matter how small. I look forward to getting to know your lovely dogs.

Sophie was brilliant with our 3 year old Golden Retriever. We recently got married in the Cotswolds and Sophie took care of Cooper for 3 nights and was amazing. She was sending us constant updates and pictures and really put our minds at ease. Would highly recommend!!

Sophie kept me updated regularly with texts and photos, which is really good for peace of mind with a dog that is quite anxious. She took Joey for loads of walks and he looked really happy and comfortable with her. She is extremely reliable and I would not hesitate to recommend her. This is the 3rd time Joey has been looked after by Sophie, and I have her booked again for later this year. I'd definitely not use anyone else!
