I have always had a passion for animals, which has led me to gain extensive experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds and personalities. I currently have 6 dogs of my own, with a variety of breeds and ages. I have raised each of them from puppies, giving me first-hand experience of caring for dogs throughout all stages of their lives. This includes puppy care, socialisation, training, adolescence, adult dogs and older dogs. Having multiple dogs with different personalities has also taught me how important it is to understand each individual dog and adapt their care to suit their specific needs. I run my own dog walking and training business Sophie’s Canines & Co, so caring for animals is my career and something I am genuinely passionate about. Through my business, I work with a wide range of dogs on a daily basis and provide dog walking, training walks, 1:1 training sessions, pet sitting and drop-in visits. I regularly work on areas including recall, loose-lead walking, obedience, impulse control, socialisation and gundog training. I also have experience working with dogs with different behaviours, confidence levels and training needs, allowing me to adapt my approach to suit each individual dog. I have plenty of experience providing care in dogs’ own homes, allowing them to remain in a familiar environment and maintain their normal routines while their owners are away. Alongside my practical experience, I have a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management, which I achieved with a Distinction. My studies gave me a strong understanding of animal biology, behaviour, welfare, health, nutrition, handling and husbandry. I am also DBS checked, fully insured, Level 3 First Aid at Work trained and a higher distinction in Level 4 Canine First Aid. I understand that every pet is different, and I pride myself on providing patient, reliable and individualised care. Whether your dog needs long walks and enrichment, a consistent routine, extra support or simply lots of company and cuddles, I will always put their welfare and happiness first. ❤️🐶
