May I pet your dog? Please?
Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover who grew up surrounded by dogs and have been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. I’ve also been a Rover sitter for 5 years, starting in Boston primarily as a dog walker, and I’ve loved getting to know so many different dogs and their personalities along the way. My boyfriend and I have a very friendly pup of our own, Ted, whom we adopted in July 2025. Ted absolutely loves having dog friends to play with, so he’s always excited to welcome a new buddy into our home! I work in an office Monday–Friday, while my boyfriend is a firefighter who works a 96/48-hour schedule. Because of our schedules, dogs would be alone for 8 hours at most, and only about 2 days per week. On those days, we make sure they get plenty of exercise and attention beforehand — we typically go on a long morning hike before I head to work so everyone is happy and settled for the day. We live in a 2-bedroom home with plenty of space and a good-sized yard. Our yard isn’t fenced, so for safety, dogs are never left outside unsupervised or allowed off leash. We also have plenty of options for separating dogs if they need some quiet time or a break from play. I’m happy to accommodate different personalities and routines — whether your dog wants to spend the day playing with Ted, going on adventures, getting lots of cuddles, or having some peaceful alone time. My goal is for every dog staying with us to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely at home! 🐾

Sophie kept our Lily safe and happy. She was accommodating of our Meet and Greet, and Lily and Ted got along well. Sophie sent lots of pictures every day which we so appreciated! We will be calling Sophie the next time we need a sitter.
Sophie was a fabulous dog sitter!! Took such good care of our pup Tango - he had the best time and loved hanging out with the other dogs. Sophie sent daily updates and kept us well informed!
During the meet and greet, Sophie was very friendly, listened to my instructions, seemed knowledgeable, and made an immediate connection with my dog and cat when meeting them. That helped me feel more comfortable leaving my animals and home in her care for the weekend. Knowing my animals would be alone for a while, I asked her to text me when she arrived and give an update on my animals. I instead got a text well afterwards, asking about Internet access, which was fine, but nothing about the animals. So then when I asked about them, she said she had already taken my dog for a long walk, which I appreciated, but that meant she clearly hadn't contacted me when she got to my house as I had asked. I heard nothing more from her over the weekend until it was time for her to leave, when she asked about instructions to wrap things up. My flight home was delayed, so I asked her what time she had left my home as I was concerned about leaving my dog alone for the extra time. She told me the time she left and it was at least an hour earlier than the time we had agreed upon and that I had paid for. Feeling stressed, it wasn't expected but I would've appreciated if she had offered to stay just a few hours longer. But she didn't. And again, she left an hour earlier than what I paid for. I had to ask a neighbor who just had surgery to get my dog. Sophie is such a nice young lady. I believe she truly cares for animals and treated mine well. She also left my home as I had left it and even put the bedding in the washer and drier, which I so appreciated. I trust her. I just wish she had communicated more and had left at the time we had agreed upon. I hope this review helps her so she can get all high reviews from future clients.
Sophie was a wonderful caregiver to our two senior dogs! She treated our home like her own and was very responsive to my check ins. Will certainly use her again and you should too!

Sophie is absolutely wonderful with my french bulldog puppy Millie! My only complaint is that I think Millie may now love Sophie even more than me...

Safety, trust & environment
Since I am currently unable to offer dog boarding at my own home, the care of your dog in your home is entirely up to you! I will be highly respectful of your rules and expectations. That said, I am more than comfortable with dogs sharing the bed with me, as I truly enjoy doggy cuddle time. Generally, I am a very active person, so you can expect plenty of walks, runs, or hikes, tailored to meet your dog's exercise needs and abilities.

A typical day
I love to be out and about so I would love to go on long walks/runs and explore. I'm always up for a hike and spending some time outdoors. We could spend some time in the dog park tossing a ball around. I’m always up for a spirited round of tug-of-war too!
