Pet care experience

Dog loving American in London

Hi! I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a teenager, offering both walking and boarding, so I’m very comfortable with pups of all personalities and needs. I grew up with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Bette Davis, which definitely started my lifelong love of dogs 🐶 My family now has a rescue puppy we “foster failed” (couldn’t let her go!), so I’m used to the energy and attention younger dogs need too. I’ve been living in London for over 10 years, and I really miss having a dog around day-to-day, so I’d love to give your pup plenty of care, attention, and company while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, or just keeping them company, I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and at home.

Sophie has taken care of my dog Fluffy multiple times, and I always feel completely at ease leaving her in Sophie’s care. She’s responsible, attentive, and genuinely loves animals. Fluffy is always happy, well cared for, and relaxed when I return. I trust Sophie completely and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet caregiver.

Sophie is amazing with our little dachshund Ovi! We happily let her look after him whenever we need someone in London and he loves her x

Sophie is a thoughtful knowledgeable and conscientious pet sitter and walker. She has experience, was attentive to our specific directions and responsible in all situations. I felt comfortable trusting her with our reactive and timid rescue and our slow senior. She is consistently reliable and a delightful kind girl. We endorse her 100%.

Schedule

I work from home during the week, so your dog will have plenty of company and attention throughout the day. The only time I’m usually out is for about an hour for a workout class, otherwise I’m around and happy to keep your pup company, take them on walks, and make sure they feel settled and cared for.

Safety, trust & environment

Your fur baby will feel right at home with me! I’m lucky to have a park just next door to my flat, so they’ll get plenty of fresh air, walks, and outdoor time. At home, I’m all about making sure they feel comfortable and loved - whether that’s playtime, cuddles, or just relaxing together. It is myself in the flat and I have no pets currently so they will get all the attention! I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine, including crating if needed, and I’ll make sure they’re safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away 💛

A typical day

A typical day with me is relaxed, attentive, and built around your pet’s usual routine. I follow their feeding schedule (whatever times they’re used to), with a nice walk and some play or cuddles in the morning. During the day, I keep them company with a mix of walks, playtime, and rest (depending on their energy). I love getting outside, so they’ll get plenty of fresh air and attention. In the evening, we wind down with dinner, a gentle walk, and some cosy time on the couch (snuggles if they’re into it!). I always make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and right at home while you’re away.

Before looking after your dog, I’d love to know a few key things to make sure they’re as happy and comfortable as possible. This includes their usual feeding times, any routines they’re used to, and how they behave on walks or around other dogs/people. Please also let me know about any medications, allergies, or specific needs, as well as anything that helps them feel at ease (or things they don’t like). The more I know, the better I can make their time feel like home!
