Safety, trust & environment

I have a contract that I have been using since 2010 that outlines my safety procedures. When I am in a clients home I always have them review it and do a walk around of the home with them. From my years at doggy daycare I am pretty familiar with certain breed characteristics like the awesome heights husky’s can jump or the tunneling ability of a weenie. I also am very understanding about separation anxiety as someone who has worked at rescues. For walks I require a harness or collar the dog cannot slip out of. I require an in person meeting beforehand, if doggy play dates with my dog are requested we must meet on neutral ground first to see how they interact.

Any food or environmental sensitivitys need to be disclosed and well as behavioral quirks that might impact safety like barrier aggression or startling easy when waking up from naps.

A typical day

My days normally start with puppy snuggles in bed, then breakfast and a walk. My workday starts at 9am and ends at 6 but all my breaks and lunch are usually spent playing B. A. L. L. or setting up activities to keep my pup busy while I work. After I clock off we either swim or go for a walk. The rest of the day is weather dependent but usually ends with snuggles in the bed then lights out.

Pet care experience

I carry a business insurance policy for petcare. My first job was a at a doggy daycare/ boarding facility but I have been pet sitting since I was 12. I’ve worked with puppies all the way through seniors receiving cancer treatment. I have a playful golden retriever who adores all animals big and small. I have experience bathing and giving insulin to cats too. I volunteered at a rescue ranch for a number of years and have experience with livestock. I personally have ducks, chickens, reptiles and a senior cat as companions for my golden.

Really kind person who loves dogs! She was really good with Daisy and would definitely use Sophia again and recommend her to a friend.

Sophia was born to take care of animals, we have 2 dogs (Dinan and Sissy) and she spoils them endlessly. She also regularly watches and takes care of friend and family pets and I have yet to see a dog that hasn't immediately taken a liking to her. She goes above and beyond in every way to make sure the animals are well taken care of and happy. We also rescue other animals, mostly ducks, turtles and tortoises. You won't regret having her as part of your team.
