Currently have plenty of time to dedicate to looking after pets, specifically for walking (for dogs), feeding, playing with, and caring for them. It’s my priority to ensure the pets feel loved and cared for. With my current flexible schedule, I am available for several days of the week providing dog walking services, housesitting stay-overs, and drop-in visits.

When caring for pet’s for housesitting, I always aim to follow their routine as closely as possible. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, walked or let out as needed, and give plenty of attention, playtime, and cuddles (if they enjoy that). I respect the client’s space and keep the house clean and tidy. For drop-ins and dog walking, I focus on making each visit and walk a positive experience for the pet(s). Walks are thus tailored to the dog’s energy levels and needs, whether it’s a short stroll or active playtime. I also pay attention to weather conditions and use proper gear to ensure their safety. I always take the time to get to know each pet’s personality and comfort level—whether they’re shy, energetic, or somewhere in between—so they feel calm and cared for while their owner is away.

A typical day
I enjoy stimulating the pets both physically and mentally. Especially for high-energy dogs, I enjoy taking them on walks and playtime in the field or backyard (e.g., fetch, tag, etc.). I also enjoy engaging them mentally by teaching them new tricks and other mental games (e.g., hide and seek, puzzle toys, etc.). For cats, I also like playing with them too using a variety of cat toys, such as cat wands, laser pointers, rolling toys, etc. Additionally, I ensure to reward the pets their favourite treats as well.

Experienced, Reliable Pet Sitter
Pet care experience
I’ve been a cat owner for over 10 years—starting when I was just 6 years old and continuing throughout my senior year of high school. Currently, I own an Akita-Husky mix dog, whom I’ve had for over 5 years (had him since Nov 2020), first adopting him when he was only 8 weeks old. Finnegan (my dog) gave me hands-on experience with puppies and house-training. In total, I have had over 15 years of personal pet care experience! Back in March 2025, I completed a 2-week housesitting stay caring for my uncle’s 15-year-old Bichon Frisé in NYC. In addition, I volunteer for Action Volunteer for Animals (AVA) — with their adoption centres located within various Pet Smart locations — helping to look after rescued stray/feral cats of all ages (including kittens as young as 3 months old) and temperaments (including feisty, skittish and anxious cats). Duties include socializing anxious and shy cats, refilling food and water bowls, cleaning cat enclosures and centre, administering medications, monitoring for any health issues (stool, sneezing, any visible ailments, etc.), as well as speaking with potential adopters and aiding in adoption events. I’ve been a regular volunteer there since June 2025. Ultimately, I’m both a cat and dog lover. I enjoy caring for pets of all personality types — including feistier cats/dogs — as well as all breeds and sizes, from small to large. …And yes, I’m more than happy to clean multiple accidents/change pet diapers💩. Have been a pet-sitter on Rover since Sept 2025, working with various breeds of cats and dogs of all ages and with different medical/nutritional needs, temperaments, and backgrounds. Unfortunately, I do not have prior experience caring for other pets besides cats and dogs. Regardless, I am willing to look after non-canine/feline pets, such as hamsters, rabbits, reptiles, etc., given thorough instructions. Except spiders/tarantulas, and other insects/arachnids (I have a fear of such).

Reviews

We are glad to have had Sophia look after Miso for the day. She even got some toys for him to play with. Miso was very comfortable with Sophia. We would be happy to have her sit Miso again in future.

We had a wonderful experience with Sophia while we were away on vacation. She took amazing care of our cat, Ziggy - it was clear he genuinely enjoyed her company! She kept us well-informed with regular updates, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Not only did she care for Ziggy so thoughtfully, but she also looked after our home with the same level of attention and respect. It made a huge difference knowing everything was in such good hands. We felt completely at ease the entire time and wouldn’t hesitate to have her back again. Highly recommend!

We needed a last minute sitter for our baby, Ziggy and Sophia was readily available! We know that we can always rely on her to be there to take care of our Ziggy!

Sophie is the best sitter we have had! She is reliable, punctual, knowledgeable, professional as well as passionate about animals. She provided absolutely fantastic care for my 2 dogs. Though one is reactive dog and needs cautious attention on walks, she did amazing job on walking my dog and the video showed how happy she was with her on walk, which made me really surprised! On heavy rainy day, Sophie entertained them with a variety of indoor activities. Each update including photos and videos showed how happy my dogs were with Sophie and felt comfortable and relaxed. She followed instructions precisely but more than that she gave them extended care like cooking handmade chicken toppings which was perfectly similar to mine! They loved Sophie’s toppings very much ! I was very impressed with her thoughtfulness and kindness to take care of my dogs. The house has absolutely been well taken care of. She left home spotless, even windows! After long trips, we immediately felt happy with clean house too. I am pretty sure that I would like to work with her in the future too! I cannot recommend her enough ☺️She is the best!
