My rates are higher for house sitting and boarding because I accept last minute clients. As for my schedule, I work a full time job and will be gone during normal hours. If your dog requires constant care the rate with go up to $250 a night and I will need at least 2 weeks notice to notify my job.

Drop-In’s: For dogs I will not accept bookings that have less than 2 drop-in’s a day scheduled. This is because dogs become stressed when left alone too long and can become destructive. I also want to be able to check on them for health reasons. During the drop-in your dog will go on a walk that equal half the time of the drop-in you have booked (30 min drop-in = 15 minute walk). They will be fed and given water, and the rest of the drop-in will be spent playing inside. Their food bowls will be cleaned and water bowls refreshed. If there are any messes caused by the dog, those will be cleaned up as well. I do offer grooming (I will not do nails or teeth) for $30 extra. Photo’s will be provided at the end of each drop-in. Walks: Dogs will always be walked separately. It will be a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood, and then they will be given water before I leave. I do offer adventure hikes, where I will take your dog to a location of your choosing for a walk. This can include a trail, a public park, a lake, or just to a different neighborhood. There will be an extra charge for any reactivity or excessive pulling, this will come out to about $10 extra.
Information Sophia B. would like to know about your pet
A copy of their vaccinations are required. For a drop-in I will just need a photo of their rabies vaccinations and rabies tag. For a house sit I will need a copy of their DHPP/DA2PP, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Lyme, Influenza. You have until 24 hours before the sit to send me a copy, otherwise it will be cancelled. A written list of all care is required. This should include: Feeding Instructions, Walking instructions, an emergency vet contact, a normal vet contact, simple daily grooming (brushing) and any reactivity issues. Do not provide this over text or the notes app. I’ve had issues in the past where I could not access them, please print them out or send me a PDF that I can print out. All medical issues must be disclosed prior to the meet and greet. This will let me know the level of care needed and help me decided if I can provide it.
A typical day
House sitting: My rates are high because I accept last minute bookings (less than 48 hours notice). I do work so I will leave during the day for about 8 hours. If constant care is needed (this means I cannot leave at all during the booking) the rate will increase to $250 a night, and I will not accept constant care bookings longer than 72 hours. The rate I set covers my food for the stay, any extra supplies bought for the dog (excluding food and litter) and any messes caused by the dog. I do offer grooming (I will not do teeth or nails) for an extra $30.

Pet care experience
I started my journey on rover over a year ago. Part of what encouraged me to get into pet sitting was my background. I grew up on farm so my family had a lot of room to foster cats and dogs. There were times we would have 6 dogs staying with us at once, each with their own funny quirks. I fell in love with getting know each of their personalities and taking care of them. Since starting rover I’ve worked with everything: reactive dogs, food aggressive, high energy, senior and disabled. It’s been a great experience getting to know all the dogs. I also have my own sweet puppy named Birdie. She loves interacting with all the clients that come to visit. I’ve had her since she was 2 weeks old and she’s always been a social butterfly. I’ve noticed she helps other dogs staying with us adjust to the environment quicker. She’s very high energy and is guaranteed to wear your pup out.

Reviews

Sophia was great. She was very communicative and my cats loved her!

Sophia was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond for my fur babies and communicated all the way!

Thanks again!

Sophia was great! She provided updates and pictures and I felt calm and reassured while Muffin was in her care. Sophia was understanding of muffin being an older doll and was very patient while Muffin adjusted. I will definitely book with Sophia again. Five out of five 🐾!!
