I provide attentive, personalized care based on each pet’s needs and the service requested. Because I work from home, I’m able to spend plenty of time engaging with pets through play, companionship, walks, and regular check-ins. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their regular routine in a familiar setting. This includes feeding, walks, playtime, medication administration if needed, and ensuring their space is kept clean and comfortable. For crate-trained dogs, I am happy to use the client’s existing setup to keep the experience stress-free. My goal is always to provide safe, reliable, and loving care while keeping pets happy and owners confident their pets are well looked after.
Information Sonya B. would like to know about your pet
Ahead of time, it’s important for me to know each pet’s daily routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any medical or behavioral considerations. This includes allergies, medications, training level, triggers, and how they typically interact with people and other animals. I also like to understand their preferences, such as favorite toys, walking habits, and comfort items, so I can provide consistent, stress-free care that feels familiar to them. For Example: Dogs: allergies, medications, training level, triggers, socialization with people or other dogs, favorite toys, and walking habits. Cats: litter box preferences, favorite hiding spots or toys, diet restrictions, medications, social behavior, and comfort items.
A typical day
I ensure pets stay happy, active, and engaged with activities suited to their personality and energy level. Dogs: walks, outdoor exploration, supervised play, and interactive games. Cats: climbing, interactive toys, puzzle feeders, and quiet cuddle time. I always tailor activities to each pet’s preferences and comfort level, providing both physical and mental stimulation while keeping them safe and happy.

Pets Loved Like Family!
Pet care experience
I am a family-oriented pet caregiver with over 27 years of experience working with animals of all ages and sizes, including a specialization in rescuing and rehabilitating animals. With extensive experience and a strong background in the veterinary field, your pet(s) are in excellent hands. I have cats of my own and a very friendly dog named Lora, who loves making new friends. I am fully capable of administering any required medications. In addition, I am a Certified Animal First Aid Instructor with over 9 years of experience in animal education. I am fully bonded and insured, providing you with peace of mind while your pets are in my care. I provide regular updates and photos via the Rover app, so you can see how your pets are doing throughout their stay. For the health and safety of all pets in my care, I require that all dogs be fully vaccinated, including Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Distemper, and current flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. All cats should also be up-to-date on vaccinations. This ensures a safe and healthy environment for every pet. Before scheduling a Meet and Greet, please complete your pet’s profile on Rover so I can learn all about their personality, needs, and preferences. Thank you, Sonya

Reviews

I was able to enjoy my vacation away knowing Scout was well taken care of. My dog is afraid of fireworks and was kept safe and comfortable on Canada Day. Sonya walked Scout and used her judgement when doing so because of the heat. She made sure he didn't overheat or get sick. My house was left clean and tidy. I would recommend Sonya and use her services again. Scout seemed comfortable and enjoyed his time with her.

Sonya was great! We received lots of photos and the house was spotless when we came home.
We are so grateful to have Sonya care for our special needs dog Coco! She sent us lots of pictures and made some notes as requested. She has such a calm presence about her and I knew Coco loved her from the moment they met! Thanks again Sonya😊

Sonya is the best! We can always rely on her to take such good care of all our babies!!
