I only take care of dogs in the owners home and Im happy to follow your guidelines on how to best take care of your pet.
Information Sonja C. would like to know about your pet
I like to understand each pet’s routine and personality ahead of time so I can keep things as normal and stress-free as possible for them. Things that are especially helpful to know are feeding schedules, walk routines, energy level, and how they do when left alone (if at all). I also like to know if there are any quirks—like anxiety, reactivity with other dogs, or anything that might trigger them—so I can handle situations the right way. It’s also great to know what they enjoy (favorite toys, spots, habits) and anything they don’t like. And of course, any medications or special care instructions. The more I know upfront, the smoother everything goes, and it helps make sure your pet stays comfortable and happy while you’re away.
A typical day
For more active dogs, I’m happy to do longer walks, hikes, or play sessions to keep them engaged. If they’re more relaxed, I’m just as happy hanging out, giving them attention, and keeping them company. I’m big on making sure pets feel comfortable and sticking close to their normal routine, but I also make sure they get plenty of interaction—whether that’s playtime, walks, or just being around someone during the day.

Loving and active dog sitter
Pet care experience
Im new to Rover but I have been housesitting and taking care of peoples pets for a long time. I had a dog for 18 years.I had a dog for 18 years so I’m very comfortable with everything from energetic pups to senior pets who need extra patience and attention. I’m also active and love getting outside, so if your dog enjoys walks, hikes, or playtime, I’m a great match.
Reviews
I’ve known Sonja for several years and would absolutely trust her to watch my home and pets. She’s very responsible, clean, and just generally someone who does what she says she’s going to do. She’s also really good with animals—she had her own dog for many years and was incredibly attentive and patient, especially as her dog got older. Sonja is also easy to communicate with and keeps things simple and straightforward, which I really appreciate. When I had to leave town, I never hesitated to have her stay in my home and take care of everything. I think she’s a great fit for house and pet sitting and would treat anyone’s home and pets with a lot of care and respect
