I also like to know if they have any medical conditions, allergies, medications or things that might stress them out, such as loud noises, other animals or being left alone for long periods. As a veterinary technician, I’m comfortable following detailed instructions and paying attention to any health or behaviour changes. This helps me make sure each pet feels safe, calm and well cared for at all times. The more information I have beforehand, the better I can adapt and give them the same care and routine they’re used to at home.
A typical day
A typical day with the pets I care for is calm, safe and full of attention. I start by making sure they are comfortable, have fresh water and everything they need. Then I spend quality time with them based on their personality and energy level. I really enjoy going for walks, so I like to take dogs out for nice, relaxed walks where they can explore, exercise and enjoy their time outside. I also love playing interactive games like fetch or enrichment activities to keep them happy and mentally stimulated. For more relaxed pets, I focus on companionship, gentle play and making sure they feel safe and not alone. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding routines, medication if needed and any specific habits the pet is used to. As a veterinary technician, I have experience working with animals and I feel confident handling their basic care, understanding their behaviour and making sure they are safe and well looked after at all times. My goal is for every pet to feel secure, cared for and as comfortable as if they were at home.

Sonia and her husband did a wonderful job taking care of my little cat Rudy this weekend. Rudy is shy around strangers but I received photos showing she was interacting with them both! I came home to a happy cat. I am relieved to have Sonia booked for two weeks this summer, I will be comfortable leaving Rudy while I am away! I highly recommend booking Sonia!
Shadow adored her! He's usually very skittish with new people, doesn't love any one else handling his leash, but he loved her! She was so good with him and sweet with him, he got so confident and comfortable with her within two walks. Then he was lighting up the moment he knew it was walk time and practically sprinting to her. Would highly recommend booking her, she's the sweetest!
