I am currently in my third year of dental school at Boston University, located just down the road from my apartment. During the week, my schedule varies depending on clinic appointments and classes. Since most of my time is now spent in clinic rather than in the classroom, I have a bit more flexibility in my daily schedule. I typically return to my apartment between classes and appointments, usually in 2 to 4 hour intervals, which allows me to check in frequently and spend time with pets throughout the day. My weekends are very open, and I am usually very available during that time.

My apartment is located just steps away from two wonderful dog friendly community parks, which makes walks and outdoor time very easy and enjoyable. I live in a quiet, calm space that is especially great for pets who are used to a relaxed home environment or who may experience separation anxiety. My home has plenty of room for pets to relax, play, eat, and feel comfortable. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always try to maintain the same routines and level of care they receive from their owner. I’m happy to play and exercise with pets who are energetic, or spend quiet time sitting with them, petting them, and providing extra comfort if they prefer a calmer environment. My goal during every visit is to make sure pets feel safe, happy, and enriched so they never feel lonely while their owners are away. I also believe communicating with owners with updates and photos is so important and always incorporate that into my visits!

A typical day
Playing with stuffed toys, frisbees, and fetch, along with plenty of walks, petting, and relaxing time together. I enjoy being fully present and interactive with pets during visits, and I’m always happy to send updates and photos so owners know their pet is doing well.

Pet care experience
I’ve grown up in a home full of pets and caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life. I started pet sitting for neighbors and family at 13, and by 17 I was working as a veterinary technician. My experience in veterinary clinics has given me confidence caring for pets of all ages and temperaments, including administering medications, recognizing health concerns, and making sure animals feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I always treat every animal like they’re part of my own family.
