I’m a full-time nurse with a flexible schedule, since I only work 3–4 days a week. That means I have plenty of time, energy, and attention to dedicate to your furry friends! Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or just keeping them company, I love making pets feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away.

Information Somer S. would like to know about your pet

Important things to know ahead of time — I do my best to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for like they’re my own, so the more information you can share, the better! I appreciate knowing your pet’s normal routine, feeding schedule, potty habits, sleep preferences, energy level, triggers/anxieties, medications, and how they typically interact with other dogs and people. Please also let me know about any special quirks or behaviors ahead of time — even small things like being afraid of thunderstorms, needing space while eating, being an escape artist, or preferring certain walking equipment. Transparency helps me provide the best and safest care possible for everyone involved. I’m very understanding of timid, anxious, reactive, or high-personality dogs, and I never expect pets to be perfect. I just want to know what helps them feel most comfortable and successful while they’re with me.

A typical day

A typical day with me is relaxed, structured, and centered around making your pet feel safe and comfortable. Mornings usually start with potty breaks, breakfast, fresh water, and some calm cuddle time while everyone settles in. Throughout the day, I like to keep pets engaged with walks, playtime, enrichment toys, fetch, sniff breaks, and lots of attention and affection. I also make sure they have downtime to relax and decompress so they don’t feel overstimulated. I try to tailor care to each dog’s personality and energy level. Some dogs love adventures and play, while others are happiest curled up next to someone on the couch — and I’m happy to do both! I’m especially attentive to timid or anxious dogs and focus on helping them feel secure and comfortable in a new environment. For fun activities, we may go on neighborhood walks, play fetch, work on simple commands for mental stimulation, enjoy puzzle toys/treat enrichment, or just spend quality one-on-one time together. My goal is always to make pets feel loved, safe, and as close to their normal routine as possible while you’re away.

Pet care experience

I grew up on a farm, which is pretty much where my animal obsession began! I was surrounded by cows, pigs, horses, chickens, cats, dogs — basically if it had fur, feathers, or hooves, I probably helped take care of it. Growing up around so many different animals taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, and how every animal has their own unique personality. Ever since then, animals have just naturally been a huge part of my life!
