~Welcome!~ My name is Soma. I would love to extend my welcome to your furry four legged family members ( aka dogs!) here at my cozy home. I'm here to offer your dog(s)- quality, empathic, attuned care, attention, Presence, companionship, and and reliable responsible service. I'm available to engage, play, connect, love, offer respect and space, care for, and give as much Dog Joy as I can possibly offer! I generally only take in one family’s pets at a time so your dog(s) gets full on 1 to 1 quality time attention! Tho it is not limited to that, and so things can be negotiated to meet everyone's needs as appropriate. I am generally home most of the day. In the spirit of transparency, please know that Rover takes 36% of our rate. Which is why you see higher rates that it would if I were booking a private client. From a young age, Ive worked in kennels/ doggie daycare/ groomers/ have been a trainers assistant, as well as in my 13 years raising and training my own dog friend, who is no longer with us... whom I miss greatly. Ive been boarding dogs full time professionally for several years now. I’m fluent in dog! I understand their language. I’ve studied and continue to study as a hobby, positive reinforcement training. I also have surrogate mothered baby animals such as 3 day old kittens, wolves, and lambs along their timeline of development. Ive lived on farms where my responsibilities were to care for the sheep, goats, dogs, cats, birds, and other animals. I spend lots of attuned quality time with them while your away so they feel loved and cared for and nurtured because it also nurtures me as well. To see them feeling secure while their beloved pet parent is away warms my heart. I am committed to excellence and truly do my best to give your dog(s) the most satisfying and quality experience that I possibly can during their stay with me. I am present and attuned with your furr baby and attentive as well as engaging - Play, walk, affection, space, rest, etc. I have experience and patience with the whole range: young to senior, friendly to dog aggressive, timid to easy going. Caring for dogs is my passion and thankfully it is also my professional livelihood-therefore it has priority in my day. My flow is flexible and I adapt to meet the needs of the dogs that stay with me. I have no pets of my own here, so your dogs will be the only ones receiving 1:1 quality time care. I live in a beautiful spot nestled in the redwood forest with a large wrap around fenced in deck / yard with earthen and gravel areas within it as well. Theres a lovely mixture of sun and shade, and I can safely nurture your four legged friend here. There’s plenty of room for play sessions or just lounging in patches of sunshine or shade. Your dog will for sure be kept on leash when out and about unless we discuss any exceptions ahead of time. I also have a lovely nature trail just outside my home so can take dogs on forest walks ; as well as several lovely parks and dog friendly spots nearby. Your dog(s) and I will have plenty of time in nature on the trails, etc, if that is something you feel comfortable with. We have a wonderful dog beach pretty close by that is like dog heaven! So if your dog is friendly with other dogs, let me know if they are allowed to go there! When pet sitting at your home I take good care of and respect your home, and water whatever plants need care while I’m there. I am gentle and quiet, clean and simple.
