Besides the usual experience, I routinely read up on the current developments in the dog behavior research. I am attentive to the nonverbal queues that your dog gives off and am protective of their personal space. I have experience dog walking relatively anxious dogs and mitigating their interactions with strangers, so I am used to insisting on boundaries even with people who sometimes can't take "no" for an answer after asking if they can pet the dog.

For taking care of your pets at your home, it is of utmost importance for me to hear and remember the boundaries and rules you have set. I understand that my task is two-fold: both provide care, comfort and attention, and to respect your chosen approach to being a pet caretaker. I take careful time to see if your pet is comfortable with me entering your space, and take precautions to make the experience natural and stress-free.

Sofia hat sich über die Weihnachtsfeiertage bereits zum zweiten Mal liebevoll und absolut zuverlässig um unsere Katze Lilly gekümmert. Obwohl Lilly eine Freigängerin ist, hat alles vollkommen problemlos funktioniert. Wir hatten jederzeit ein sehr gutes Gefühl und wussten Lilly in besten Händen. Sofia ist äußerst freundlich, verantwortungsbewusst und aufmerksam. Die Kommunikation lief ebenfalls perfekt – obwohl sie Englisch spricht und derzeit Deutsch lernt, gab es keinerlei Missverständnisse. Im Gegenteil: Alles war klar, unkompliziert und sehr angenehm. Wir sind unglaublich dankbar für ihre Unterstützung und können Sofia uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Wir würden sie jederzeit wieder buchen!
Sofia helps me with taking care of my dog Milka from time to time. Milka is an elderly dog, and is quite anxious, she's really mostly not as excited to interact with strangers as they are excited to pet her. It is very important therefore that a dog sitter can clearly upkeep Milka’s boundaries and protect her space and peace of mind! When talking her on walks or spending time with her through the day, Sofia took good care of staying attuned to Milka's moods and desires. She gives her space when she needs it and provides loving comfort when she is in the mood for it. But most of all, she is very firm in protecting Milka's peace in public settings, which can be unpredictable. As a dog-owner, I was very impressed with Sofia’s balance of these two things. It's a bond based on trust, the most important feeling to foster when dogsitting!

Schedule
I have just moved to Vienna and am on a temporary full-time job hiatus due to the recent burning out. I can't think of a better way to get to know a new city and get some money on the side than taking care of cats and dogs whose owner need some help. I won't just be helping your furry loved ones, they are also helping me recover form the burnout.
