Safety, trust & environment

Safety & Environment ~ In my home, your pet becomes part of the crew. I have two very friendly, well-socialized cats (you could be a robber and they’d still flop on their backs and ask for belly rubs all the same! 😂) and a playful (yet very respectful) Shiba Inu puppy who loves making new friends, while understanding boundaries. I take introductions slow and make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. My neighborhood is walkable and safe. I’m right down the street from the police station, fire station, local vet, and S.T. Morrison Park! Which means lots of fun walks, fresh air, and enrichment time! (I’m all about protective safeguards and organization, so living in close proximity to aid and community enrichment was a must for me :) 🙌 I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine: feeding schedules, potty breaks, medications, cuddle preferences, crate time, you name it. I adjust to their vibe and your instruction.

Information Skylynn P. would like to know about your pet

Request For Important Information Regarding Your Pet ~ Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I can be prepared to nurture. Things like allergies, anxiety triggers, mobility issues, or anything unique to their routine or personality. It’s super helpful to know if they’re shy around new people, don’t like other dogs, have separation anxiety, or need medication at certain times. Even little quirks, like being afraid of thunderstorms or not liking their paws touched, help me to care for them better. The more I know ahead of time, the more I can make sure your pet feels safe, understood, and totally loved while you’re away.

A typical day

If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I am respectful of your space and routines. I make sure food and water are fresh, litter boxes and/or potty areas are clean, and provide your pet with plenty of attention, playtime, and love. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you always know how they’re doing 📸✨ My goal is simple: I want you to leave feeling confident, and your pet to feel safe, happy, and genuinely cared for. 🤍

Pet care experience

Get to know me ~ It’s lovely to meet you! I’m Skylynn! But my friends call me “Lo”. I am a clinic services specialist at UIHC, an active reader, lover of nature—and I ADORE fur-babies! 💕 Pets have been part of my world since I could walk! I’ve shared my life with dogs and cats through every stage: from puppies with the zoomies to sweet, nonchalant seniors. In that time, I have learned to tailor walks and playtime to match each pet’s energy, keep a close eye on special diets, and gently handle medications and supplements when needed. Whether they’re shy, spunky, cuddly, or curious, I tune into their emotional needs: offering play, snuggles, and calm companionship that makes them feel right at home. I even handle brushing and nail trims, when requested, to help your sweet-faced, little fur-ball feel their best! No matter who I’m caring for, I bring kindness, patience, and a whole lot of heart to every visit! Friends, family, and clients have trusted me for years because I treat every pet like family. Because to me, they are! (También hablo español :)

My dogs can be a reactive, especially when people come in the door. Skylynn remained calm and won them over quickly. She stayed in touch, sending frequent pictures. She left the house a clean as she found it. I would happily book her again.

When Sky arrived, she had such positive energy. Chesna immediately jumped up in her lap and laid down. Sky was so intuitive to Chesna's mood and body language, which is exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely be hiring her again.

Mika is a reactive dog around strangers, and this was her very first time staying alone without me — so it wasn’t an easy situation. The first few hours were tough, but Sky, with so much patience, love, and sensitivity, managed to earn Mika’s trust and affection on the very first day. It was truly amazing. 🤩 On top of that, Sky gave me so much peace of mind by sending frequent updates and photos of Mika, which really helped ease my anxiety. ADEMÁS que habla español, mi idioma nativo, así que no pude estar más cómoda en nuestra comunicación. Sky —a name that couldn’t be more fitting— is a kind, respectful, communicative, and very responsible young woman. I would trust her with Mika again a thousand times over. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Sky! 💖
