As a freelancer, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate time throughout the day for walks, playtime, feeding, and check-ins. I enjoy getting out from behind a computer to grab fresh air, so dog walks fit naturally into my routine, and I genuinely look forward to spending time with animals each week. My dog Weyland would attest, but he is taking a post-breakfast nap in the sun at this moment.

Safety, trust & environment

I find that pets are happiest when they get to stick to their routine. As a fellow dog owner who just hired a babysitter for week, I know how many bullet points and peculiarities I was compelled to jot down. It felt a bit overly involved, but at the same time I knew it was an effective roadmap for my dog’s health and happiness, as well as the babysitter’s success and ease with him. Those are the ultimate goals, so I understand how important the details are. I follow any instructions carefully regarding feeding, walks, medications, and house rules while making sure pets receive plenty of attention and affection. That’s simply what they need. My dog Weyland needs to be scowled at before he will eat his breakfast, and dinner is a whole different thing 🤷‍♂️ I don’t understand, but believe me, I get it.

Information Sky H. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for your dog, I’d love to learn about anything that helps them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. This includes their daily routine, favorite activities, any medical needs or medications, dietary restrictions, fears or anxieties, reactivity to other dogs or people, leash habits, training cues, and anything else that makes them unique. The more I know about your dog’s personality and needs, the better care I can provide.

A typical day

Every dog is different, so I like to tailor our activities to their energy level and personality. A typical visit might include a walk around the neighborhood, plenty of time to sniff and explore, some playtime with their favorite toys, and lots of positive attention. For more energetic dogs, I’m happy to add longer walks, games of fetch, or extra play sessions. For older dogs or those who prefer a slower pace, I’m just as happy to enjoy a relaxed stroll and some quality time.

Lifelong Dog Lover, Here to Help

Pet care experience

Dogs have always been family to me. I grew up with a mom who never met a stray or rescue animal she wouldn’t try to help, so caring for pets was simply part of everyday life. I’ve cared for, played with, and halfway trained many dogs through every stage, from energetic puppies to senior companions. I’ve had perfect sweethearts and anxious grumps. I loved them all. As I transition out of traditional employment to build my freelance business, I’d love to spend some of my newfound time helping local pet owners by providing safe, reliable, and fun walks for their dogs. I’m almost always home and available, and I’d love to hang out with your four-legged family member!
