About Us & Our Experience
I grew up with Swedish Elkhounds (Jämthund), first Zacko for 11 years, and later Eiko (the wolf-like dog in the photos), so I am very experienced with active, high-energy breeds. Together with my wife from Brazil (Rute Souza Jakobsen) we have been taking care of dogs from our family and friends. I speak Norwegian, English, and Portuguese, and we would love to host your dog for short visits or long stays. Our house is located in Harestua, right by a lake and easy access to taking walks in nature. It's 35 minutes from Carl Berner Plass in Oslo. 10 minutes from Lunnertunnelen (convenient stopover between Hønefoss and Oslo Airport). - What We Offer: Spacious Setting: A large house and yard where your dog can freely choose between indoor and outdoor lounging during the day. Home office: We both are staying home the whole day so your dog will get a lot of attention. Cozy Indoor Sleeping: All pets sleep safely indoors in the living room. Sindre har passet vår Eiko (jamthund hann) mange ganger både kortere og lengre perider. Han er godt vant til hunder og sørger alltid for at Eiko får både kos og lange turer. Vi er kjempefornøyd med han som hundepasser og har ingen betenkeligheter med å overlate Eiko til han for kortere eller lenger tid.
Minnie had such a lovely time with Sindre and Rute! They took her on lots of walks and even to see the cows nearby, which she loved. They sent me plenty of photos and videos, so I could see how happy she was, clearly had a great time! I’d definitely recommend him and Rute and would be very happy for Minnie to stay with them again!

Schedule
I work from home in my own business. My wife is currently not working as she is studying norwegian. I have meetings and work sessions that goes from 60 min to 90 minutes so there are plenty of breaks during the day where i can put the dog outside, take little stroll around for a bathroom brake or take a spontanious little walk. Longer walks will be scheduled in the evening. Its also possible for the dog to be attached on a leach outside if they are comfortable with that. If the dog has learned to ask to go in or out by 'knocking on the door' we can easily help them get in or out as we are two people staying at home.

Safety, trust & environment
For our house me and my wife will be present most days. Our days are flexible to take care of the needs of the pet. If they want to go outside in the yard or be inside in the living room. We can offer a short trip on the morning and a longer trip during the evening depending on the dogs needs and fitness. We have a big house and yard. Both me and my wife is home most days so the dog will get a lot of attention. We do not allow the dog in our bedroom, but the dog can sleep inside. We do not have a space outside for the dog to sleep. If that is a need we could discuss how to make that happen.
A typical day
Highlights of staying at our place is that there is nature everywhere. All trips will be taken in nature and not by the road or in the city. Also the yard we have is big with a lot of shade if needed in the summer.
