Simone took such great care of our dogs and home! She was extremely attentive to their needs and made sure they had everything they needed during their time together. She also kept us up to date the whole time. Our dogs loved her and can’t wait until we go out of town again so they can hangout with their favorite sitter!

I booked this sitter for in-home care from 7am to 7pm. Around 8:34am, I received two garage notifications. The first showed her pulling into the garage, and the second showed her backing out of the driveway and leaving the property entirely. Because of this, I asked about the garage. Her response was that she opened it because she needed to get something from her car since it was raining. What she did NOT say was that she had completely left the house. Instead, during my 20+ minute drive home, she continued sending me updated photos and “live updates” such as “Cooper misses you,” which gave the impression that she was still actively at the house with my dog. When I arrived home, she was not there. Based on the timing, it appeared the photos had already been taken and were being used afterward to make it seem as though she was still present in the home. To be clear, my dog does NOT require constant or hour by hour care, and that was never the issue. I have booked multiple sitters before with absolutely no problems. Previous sitters have even taken my dog to dog parks, brought him to their homes to play in their backyard while I was traveling for work, sent updates throughout the day, and communicated clearly the entire time. My issue was never with someone needing to step out briefly. My issue was the lack of honesty and communication about leaving altogether while continuing to send updates as though she was still there. Even after I explained multiple times that had she simply communicated she needed to leave, I would have gladly left her a key or worked with her on the situation, the response continued to be “I didn’t know he needed constant or hour by hour care” and “I wouldn’t have accepted the booking,” which completely ignored and twisted the actual concern being addressed. I would strongly recommend future clients clearly establish expectations regarding whether the sitter is expected to remain at the home during booked hours and ensure there is direct communication if the sitter leaves the property.

I cannot recommend this sitter due to a significant breach of trust. Upon return, I found: 1) Cat water bowl almost empty. 2) A large stain on a wool rug that was intentionally hidden. 3) Two burn marks on furniture. 4) Use of an unauthorized bed/bedroom. The sitter admitted to the damage but declined to provide timely reimbursement. Rover Trust & Safety will take it from here.
