I’ve cared for dogs with very different personalities and needs, including my senior dog Lilo, who I recently cared for through her later years, and my current dog Penny, who is naturally nervous and needs patience, reassurance, and a calm environment. Caring for Lilo taught me how important it is to be attentive to a senior dog’s comfort, routine, energy level, and changing needs. With Penny, I’ve learned how to give a nervous dog space, build trust gradually, and pay attention to subtle changes in behavior and body language. I think what sets me apart is that I don’t believe every dog should be cared for the same way. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, boundaries, and individual needs. I’m patient with shy or nervous dogs, attentive with seniors, and happy to keep energetic dogs active and engaged. I’m also big on communication with pet parents. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, send regular updates and photos, and make sure you feel comfortable knowing your pet is being cared for and loved while you’re away.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for a pet. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, temperament, boundaries, and specific care instructions before the booking begins. In a client’s home, I treat their space with the same respect I would want someone to show my own home. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure, keep pets away from anything they shouldn’t access, and leave the home clean and organized. I’m especially mindful of nervous or anxious dogs and create a calm environment where they can become comfortable at their own pace. I never force interaction and always pay attention to a pet’s body language. I’ll follow feeding, walking, medication, and other care instructions exactly as provided, and I’ll communicate with you if I notice anything unusual about your pet. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

Schedule
My schedule is flexible, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting depending on my weekly schedule, and I’m able to coordinate bookings in advance so I can give each pet the time and attention they deserve. I provide care in the Bolingbrook and Bellwood areas, and I plan my bookings around where I’m located so I can be reliable and punctual. I’m intentional about not overbooking myself, so when I accept a booking, I can give your pet my full attention and follow their routine closely.

- Before caring for your pet, I’d love to know their daily routine, feeding schedule, personality, energy level, and any specific needs or behaviors. Please let me know about allergies, medications, anxiety or triggers, how they interact with people and other animals, leash habits, and anything that helps them feel safe and comfortable. Emergency contact and veterinarian information are also important.
