Since I run my home interiors business from our house in the forest, my whole day is naturally structured around Kika’s routine. I only ever host one dog at a time, so your pup won't just be "staying" here—they truly become a member of the family and get my full, undivided attention. Our days are all about adventure. We don’t just stick to one path; we explore all sorts of different terrains and trails so the dogs never get bored. Our walks usually total around 2.5 hours a day—a good long trek in the morning and a shorter stroll in the evening. It's a mix of proper sniffing, exploring, and of course, a bit of squirrel chasing if that’s what your dog lives for! We know so many of the local dogs in the park and forest, so there’s always a chance for a bit of social play. I love using these moments to reinforce those all-important manners, like staying focused and being a "good citizen" around others. If your dog loves the water, there are some great spots for a swim, too. I’m a firm believer that a happy dog is often a muddy one, but don't worry—I make sure every "mucky pup" is thoroughly cleaned and dried off so they’re cozy and comfortable back at the house. When we aren't out exploring, your dog will have my constant company while I work. My home is a calm, quiet space where they can snooze at my feet or pop out into the garden whenever they need. I’m always right here to make sure they feel settled, secure, and completely loved until you’re back.

I know exactly how much trust it takes to leave your "baby" with someone else—it's a huge deal. My goal is simply to make them feel as safe and loved as they do in their own home. We’re so lucky to live right in the forest, far away from busy roads and noise, so it’s a very peaceful place for a dog to just be a dog. Inside, my home is totally dog-friendly and guest dogs are genuinely welcome everywhere. If your pup is used to cuddles on the sofa or sleeping nearby, they’ll find plenty of that here—there are no "off-limits" zones in this house! I treat every guest with the same protective love I give Kika; I want them to feel "heard," happy, and completely relaxed. I always insist on a Meet & Greet before we book anything. It’s so important for the dogs to have a sniff and a play first, but it’s also for you. I want you to feel 100% at ease knowing exactly where your dog will be resting their head and who they’ll be spending their day with. Once we’ve all met and everyone is happy, you can head off knowing your dog is having the best time with us.

While I’m happy to help with dogs of any size, most of my experience is with the big ones! I’m very comfortable with the energy and strength of larger breeds, but whether they’re big or small, a Meet & Greet is a must for me. Kika is incredibly friendly, polite, and she’s a star at sharing her home. However, my main priority is making sure that both Kika and your dog feel completely safe and happy during their time together. Because of that, it’s really important for us to chat about things like resource guarding, constant barking, or any aggressive tendencies beforehand. Ultimately, I want the sleepover to be a total success for everyone. A quick walk and a sniff together first ensures that Kika and her new guest are going to be the best of friends, giving you total peace of mind that your dog is in a relaxed, harmonious home.

Our mornings usually start with plenty of cuddles and playtime. Kika absolutely loves waking up to find a "friend" has had a sleepover, so there is usually a bit of wrestling on the big bed while I have my first coffee! Once we’re all awake, we pack our snacks and head straight out into the forest—we’re lucky enough to have it right on our doorstep. We always meet plenty of friends along the way, so it’s 90 minutes of pure fun across the woods, the park, and the golf course. Whether it's playing with the "ballie," running, sniffing, or having a swim, the morning is all about whatever gives them the most enjoyment. When we’re all tuckered out and ready for breakfast, we head home to dine and settle down for a good snooze. Our afternoon rhythm usually depends on the season; in the winter, we’ll head out for our second walk around 3pm, whereas in the summer we wait until the temperature drops and it's nice and cool. Kika loves spending time in our garden, which backs onto the forest—it’s incredibly tranquil, and she’s happy to lie on her bed listening to the birds all day. Most afternoons we’ll head back into the forest, though sometimes we do a road walk to give them a different kind of mental stimulation. After dinner and a treat, the fun starts again! I love playing the "Snacky Game" with them—I scatter small, healthy treats around the room for them to find. It’s a game Kika has loved since she was a puppy and it’s brilliant for keeping their minds sharp. Then, after one last trip outside to "do our business," it’s time for bed!

Experiencia en el cuidado de mascotas

I’ve always been happiest in the company of dogs—usually when I’m a bit muddy in the forest or watching my dog, Kika, scream with delight, as she fetches a stick from the water. I’m new to Rover, but for three years I’ve been a "second home" to medium and large dogs through word of mouth and local friends. I’m even known as the ‘treat lady’ in the park because I always have a pocket full of healthy treats for any of Kika’s friends who are allowed them! I waited a long time to get my own dog, and when Kika, my Doberman, arrived, she changed my world. She is my universe, and I revolve my work-from-home life around her happiness. I know first-hand that being away from home can be stressful, so I aim to be a true continuation of your own home—with all the cuddles, 2.5 hours of forest walks, and one-on-one attention they deserve. I only take one dog at a time because I take this responsibility seriously. Recently, I did separate trial nights for a Doberman and a GSP. While one settled perfectly, the other struggled with extreme separation anxiety. Rather than letting that dog suffer, I worked with the owner to collect them the same night, so the dog learnt they weren't being abandoned, but just visiting. This experience reinforced for me that every dog needs a different pace to feel safe; some need a few short visits to remove the fear before a long stay. Ultimately, you want your dog to be relaxed and happy, not frantic, while you are on holiday. I have a lot of love to give any dog, but my experience lies mostly in bigger breeds—I’m very comfortable with the physical side of lead handling and the energy levels of larger dogs. I’m also very tuned into body language; I’ve spotted health issues like worms in guest dogs before and sorted it with a vet visit before the owners even returned. After a mucky forest walk or a swim, I’ll always make sure they’re dried off and checked for ticks or hot spots. I also believe in gentle, consistent manners, like waiting for food or sitting at crossings, so their good habits stay sharp. If you’re looking for a loving forest retreat, where your dog is treated like family, I’d love to connect. I'm happy to help dogs of different sizes and ages. An initial meet and greet is 100% essential, for peace of mind, and to ensure Kika and your fur baby will be the best of friends.

I would highly recommend Simone. My dogs love the long walks with her, the attention and love she gives them. They are treated like part of the family and they love spending time with her dog Kika.

I met Simone on a dog walk a couple of years ago and we bonded over our love of Dobermans, one day Simone mentioned she might start dog sitting and we literally jumped at the chance! I have literally never met anyone more caring and in tune with dogs. When we collected Deya from her sleepover with Kika she buried her head in Simone's knees, (I think she was basically asking to stay as she was given so much quality attention). What more could you ask for!

Our 2 newfoundland dogs look forward to walking with Simone. She has great patience and is very caring with them. They have stayed overnight with her and they are always happy to stay with her.

Simone met my dog Tommy about a year ago, and it was love at first sight. Since then, she has helped with both walking and boarding him, and I honestly couldn’t imagine a better person to care for my dog. She gives Tommy so much love and treats him like he’s her own. Tommy goes on very long walks with her and always comes back happily exhausted. After that, he gets to enjoy the best night ever on a cozy mattress, plus some amazing treats. This is not your typical dog boarding — this is truly treating your pet to the best of the best. Tommy always comes home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well loved.
