I am a Software Engineer on a career break. My life currently revolves around providing Tater Boii with the best days, full of adventure and park play. Plus delicious treats and napping. Occasionally Tater’s little foster brother Kanta Man and best friend Kuma Chan the little Chihuahua join us. Your best friends are welcome to come join our pack for the day, night, week, and they will be cared for 100% of the time.

I live in a sizeable 1 bedroom apartment with den. It's a large open space. Tater typically hangs out on the couch, as his name suggests. There's a big Costco dog bed that's usually up for grabs. Dogs are welcome on the couch or bed or wherever they like. We have a little park with a big soccer field, and an enclosed dog park, across the street 2 minutes away. Tater and I typically venture for slightly longer walks to several other much larger dog friendly parks. One of which has a dog friendly beach.

Information Simon B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know everything you can about your loved one before they visit. Beyond the medical information such as allergies, I consider behavioural information just as critical. No need to be embarrassed on their behalf. My best friend Tater is afraid of venetian blinds.
A typical day
A typical day will depend on what your dog prefers. Whenever I can, I bring my dog Tater wherever I go. On top of that we tend to have at least 3 walks each day including a long 2-3 hour (min) play time at a big park. If that doesn't suit your pooch, we can have a chill day and stay closer to home, or we can stay out for longer. We can play in the apartment on rainy days and I sometimes let Tater run around in the hallway. Please keep that last bit quiet. It’s one of Tater’s most best favourite things ever. shhh While we’re hanging out at home, I’m happy to keep your pooch engaged with any tricks they know, and with your approval I’d love to try and teach them something new. Along with the usual sit, lay down, shake etc. Tater knows how to high-five, high-ten, spin and go through my legs. I was hoping that the “through” command would eventually get him to go through my documents and do my taxes. Maybe I can teach your pup that.

Pet care experience
Growing up with dogs I have always had a natural demeanor with and an understanding of them. Adopting a particularly anxious Formosan Mountain Dog named Tater has afforded me a new level of patience and skill set for working with exceptional dogs. I have 5 years full-time boarding experience, often up to several weeks at a time. I happily offer walking, day care and companionship, including occasionally teaching a new trick or two. I have tested and proven skills handling dogs with anxiety, prey drive, food aggression and more, plus some experience caring for very elderly dogs. I guarantee your pooch will have a wonderful experience when they visit.
Reviews

Simon was an amazing sitter, always great with our dog. Great communication, active and awesome

Simon looked after Chili for a week around Christmas. I was concerned that Chili might refuse to eat, and he made sure to send videos of her eating which was really reassuring. Simon was also flexible with pickup times which was great since my flight home was delayed many times, and I ended up needing to pick her up after midnight. I think it was a great experience for Chili to be around a group of dogs, and I'd definitely book with Simon again

So happy that we found Simon last-minute to watch our two pups!

Another amazing stay with Simon! Grant is a big, complex rescue and only a few people “get” him - Simon absolutely does. Simon shows endless patience and genuinely understands all of Grant’s nuances. Grant has plenty of dog friends, and Simon consistently ensures his needs are met. He has an excellent instinct for the dogs he welcomes into his care. Grant returned home balanced and relaxed, almost as if he’d been at a restorative retreat. We highly recommend Simon.
