A typical day

I always start with fun hellos with my clients before doing a house check for any oopsies or messes. It’s habitual for me to tend to the refreshing of food and water and cleaning of living space early in visits. The rest of the time I let the pet lead the playtime, or just sit and share space to give them company. I talk to all of my clients while I work. I find that they appreciate the company of a human voice, and it helps more shy pets warm up. I take copious photos and videos during visits to upload to their rover card or text directly to pet parents.

Pet care experience

From dreams of marine biology in first grade to thoughts of vet school in high school, I’ve always loved animals and wanted to take care of them. I’ve been a life long dog owner and as of a year ago, expanded into a multi dog and cat house hold. I understand the importance of reliability and value of flexibility in pet care. Most importantly, I know how important it is to know that when you can’t be there yourself, the person showing up showers your pet with love and care like a part of the family.

Siika was a wonderful sitter for our cat Marley! We needed her last-minute, and during a major holiday week, so she really came through! We got updates and photos from her daily, and she spent some extra time playing with Marley knowing we had just recently lost our other cat and this would be her first time solo. Everything was tidy when we got home, and Marley seemed happy and very well taken care of. We are so appreciative and would highly recommend Siika!

She had great availability.. great attention to detail with the specific directions in caring for my dog, cat, and Chinchilla. She was highly communicative as well. I loved having a pet-sitter who so clearly loves animals.
