I've been passionate about the development of dogs since the age of 10 years old. I find importance in sharing good habits from the start, using positive reinforcement techniques to ensure a happy, well-behaved companion. Additionally, I provide attentive and gentle care for senior animals, (I currently have a family Border Collie at the age of 16) focusing on their unique needs and ensuring their comfort and well-being. I'm an excellent communicator, extremely reliable and take pride in any job I acquire. My background in raising dogs and senior care allows me to offer tailored, high-quality support for pets of all ages.

I’ve never met a more devoted animal lover in my life. Signy has cared for our two dogs — a border collie and an Aussie — with such dedication and attention. Making sure the animals are exercised, stimulated and properly fed/watered is her main focus. And then she makes sure the animals are well-loved. She treats our pets as I imagine she would her own. I cant recommend Signy Shumway as a pet-sitter/caregiver enough. She is beyond responsible as well as a pleasure to work with.

When caring for pets in a client's home, I maintain their familiar routine to minimize stress. I offer detailed updates on their pet's activities and well-being, ensuring they are comfortable and engaged. My services include feeding, exercise, administering medications if needed, and maintaining their usual environment. I also take care of any specific requests or preferences the client has, ensuring their pet receives the best care possible while they are away.
A typical day
I'm an outdoor enthusiast. I enjoy taking all dogs on walks to explore new routes, which helps with their exercise and provides mental stimulation. I would incorporate playtime activities like fetch, tug-of-war, and interactive puzzle toys to engage their minds. Anything to keep them busy and happy!
