Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine as I’m currently only working two days a week in person. Caring for pets allows me to stay connected to my interest in animal biology while offering flexible, fulfilling work. I love incorporating pet walks, check-ins, and caregiving into my week, providing dedicated time to ensure each animal is happy and healthy. This account is jointly worked by both myself and my roommate, Brandon. This allows for a wide availability both throughout the week and throughout the day. Brandon shares a passion for animals and has also received his Master's in Biology. Similarly, he currently works as a dog handler. For walks, he will be the one working with you!

If your dog is a puller on the leash or tends to be reactive or violent towards other animals, I’d love to be aware so I can adjust our walks and interactions accordingly. Understanding these details ahead of time helps me provide the best and safest care for your pet and ensures they have a positive experience.

If there were half stars, I would have left Sierra 2.5 Sierra is a very kind, prompt and communicative sitter. She was flexible and made the drop-off process very smooth, making sure I felt that my dog would be in good hands during my trip. Unfortunately, throughout the stay, my dog was able to access a trash can and ate some assorted trash—not a big deal, but concerning. Days later, a pan of brownies were left high up on a counter in a common space where my dog had unsupervised access while Sierra took a shower. My medium-large sized dog was able to get onto the counter and ate the tray of brownies resulting in his hospitalization and a $2,000 vet bill that I am now attempting to get reimbursed through Rover. Suffice to say, the result of the stay was very frustrating, upsetting, and tainted what would have otherwise been a mostly great experience. I would have appreciated Sierra taking direct accountability, but throughout our back and forth got the sense that she considered it my fault that I didn't warn her that dogs sometimes leap onto counters when they smell food (something he's never done in my apartment but is overall unsurprising). Both Sierra and her housemate expressed that they were sorry that this had happened, but not in such a way that made me feel they were taking direct accountability. It is possible that they were attempting to take accountability and that my emotions prevented me from seeing this (as I was quite upset at the time) but I got the sense that they were hesitant to take responsibility due to fears that there would be some sort of repercussions on them financially for doing so. I had let Sierra know when dropping my dog off that he had not been trained properly as a puppy, before my ownership, and that he would likely need extra attention/redirection, especially in his tendency to jump up and put his paws on counters. Beyond the cost, I really wish this hadn't happened, as I don't enjoy leaving bad reviews and think that Sierra and her housemate seem like very decent and friendly people who experienced a momentary lapse in judgement. I have had my dog for 5 years, and have made brownies and other chocolate treats many times without ever having to take my dog to the ER. I am aware that my dog's poor training (which we are working on) played a role in this debacle but feel that certain precautions should have been followed when sitting a dog with known behavioral issues, especially considering the steep price paid for dog sitting services. Overall, I think Sierra is a great option for people looking to board small dogs, very well-trained dogs, or cats. I would also reiterate that this poor review does not reflect on Sierra or her roommate personally, but on the level of competence and attentiveness I feel my dog was given which resulted in his hospitalization.

Sierra did an incredible job sitting for my cat Kicia. She sent photos and check ins throughout the day and gave my cat such excellent care he didn’t want to leave her home. Sierra really helped in a rush emergency to get my cat taken care of while visiting my grandfather in the hospital. 11/10 care that I appreciate deeply. If you are in Eugene, and need true proper care for your animal(s) Sierra is the person to choose. THANK YOU SIERRA!

Sierra is a great dog-sitter; communicative, dependable, and easy-going with Stark. Sierra is good about sending updates and is always accommodating with drop-off/pick-up times.
