I have a cat of my own and have owned cats my entire life, so I’m caring for a pet 24/7. I am a teacher, so I have open availability for all weekends and on weekdays, can look after any pet that’s alright being home alone from around 7am to 4pm. I welcome overnights as well!

When I am caring for pets in a client’s home, I am mindful of their space, their directions, and using overall judgement to provide the happiest, and most comfortable time for all household pet residents. I work best with written instructions to refer to if needed, am quick to act in emergency situations (I have reliable transport for such instances,) and don’t mind complex instructions relating to pet care at all.

Anything that you might even slightly worry about while you’re away is worth knowing— I’m here to care for your pets but also to give you peace of mind. So feel free to leave me notes on how to best make your pets comfortable while their emotional support humans aren't around. Must knows are meds, allergies, special needs, medical conditions, and anything else that is pertinent to the well being of your pets. A vet and/or emergency clinic number is also preferred.
A typical day
As someone who grew up only having cats, the novelty of spending time with other pets never gets old! I love going on walks and jogs with dogs, burning energy with them in a yard or dog park, and have a living, breathing, space heater during nap times. And as a big time cat person, I’ll happily let them hunt their toys, give them tons of pets, or give them their space to be comfortable if that’s what they need. Oh, and I love to give a good spa day to kitties who aren’t too murder mitten oriented. So if you want me to trim nails, brush/deshed, rinse-free shampoo/pet wipe, ear wipe, and then generously reward your cat(s) let me know! Of course, if your pet has any specific playtime routines or toys they love, it would only help our time together. And if you have a different kind of pet, I’m happy to learn how they’re best entertained!

Pet care experience
As a lifelong cat parent who grew up surrounded by a variety of animals, I am always happy to spend time with new pets! From volunteering at local shelters to socializing rescues with larger organizations, I have gained an incredible amount of hands-on experience in caring for all kinds of animals, personalities, and temperaments. I’ve been pet, house, and plant sitting for friends and family for over 15 years, responsible for dogs of all sizes, cats, rabbits, and more. I’m happy to keep an eye on younger pets in training and seniors alike, having an ample amount of experience with cleaning up after pets as needed, and several methods of delivering medication. I’m a very flexible and accommodating sitter, who would love getting to know you, your pet, and what your ideal care looks like, if you seek any of my available services :)

Shyma did an amazing job house sitting and watching my 12.5 year old German Shepard Conrad. He went above and beyond making him gourmet dinners to hide his medicine, sent me daily updates, cleaned up his accidents, and truly cared for Conrad like he was one of his own. We greatly appreciated Shyma’s care and joyful/energetic personality. Highly highly recommend!
Shyma was an AMAZING kitty caretaker! He came over to meet my shy kitties in advance, and to learn how to administer my kitty’s inhaler medication, and was a natural. I loved and appreciated the attentiveness of Shyma, from the picture updates and reports, to Shyma’s excellent understanding of how to work with extremely shy cats. Shyma was patient yet determined with my shy crew- and my kitties eventually made friends! I would definitely hire Shyma to cat-sit again. Shyma is extremely personable and an obvious animal-lover. Shyma did an amazing job watching our 3 big dogs while we were gone. Loved the fun updates. Shyma even went the extra mile by brushing our Husky and bringing our dog who is a little more of a lone wolf on a solo walk to the park to make sure she got some extra 1:1 time.
