At 14, dog walking and sitting was the first career I ever wanted to dive into and a decade and a half later I've finally got the time and skills for it! I have a 3 year old who goes to daycare during the day. I work from home, so I am home all day minus 10 minutes for daycare drop-off, and 10 minutes for pick-up. When my child is home, she is great at giving our furry guests their space and doing her own thing. She and our guests have 100% supervision when she is home, to be sure that everyone's boundaries are being respected 😊 For pet boarding or doggy daycare, I appreciate drop-offs being at 10 AM or later so that I can help our guests settle in one-on-one, without having to leave them alone for daycare drop-off. Throughout the day, we can go out for as many (or in some cases, as little 😋) walks as your pup would like. Whether your dog prefers to cuddle on the couch or head out for adventures, we can do it all! 😉

I provide a safe, cozy, and crate-free experience that feels like a second home for your furry family members. If you prefer for your dog to be in their crate overnight or when left alone for short periods of time (such as a little errand here and there), we will do so. If your dog is not comfortable being left alone even for short time periods, please let me know. I pride myself in my dedication to treat them like my own furbabies, if not better 🥰 Your pet's comfort, safety, and happiness are always my top priorities. I accommodate only one family's pet(s) at a time, ensuring personalized attention with daily exercise and playtime to keep them entertained and healthy. To err on the safe-side, table food is not shared with our guests. Your pets are welcome to enjoy the furniture! Though we prefer to have them on the couch rather than the dining table (pups who like to sneak onto the table for some toddler leftovers: I'm looking at you 😂) I have plenty of experience with big boys and girls who get very excited to explore the outdoors during walks. When caring for your pets in my home, I create a comfortable and familiar environment. I follow any specific instructions you provide, including feeding schedules, playtime, and administering medications. I ensure your pets have plenty of love, attention, and mental stimulation. My goal is to make sure your pets are happy, safe, and relaxed with me while you’re away. If you have any further questions I will be happy to answer them 😊

If your dog is anxious when left alone, please let me know so I make sure not to have any errands to run during their stay. A typical day
We can have lots of fun together and include mental and physical stimulation. We can play tug-o-war together, we can squirrel-watch on the balcony, and we can cuddle to our hearts' desire on the couch. Feel free to bring their favourite toy or bed/blanket so the smells make them feel more at home. Outside, we can take different routes to explore new sceneries and smells, we can alternate between walking, jogging and sprinting (provided we are in a safe environment that allows it) to get extra exercise and stay engaged, we can take some time to reinforce basic training commands like sit, stay, and heel during our walks.

Pet care experience
*I offer discounted care for smaller adult dogs! I provide personalized care for dogs of all sizes—but I base my pricing on large dogs. That’s because larger breeds often require more time and physical effort, especially during walks and playtime. Smaller dogs (excluding puppies) naturally need a bit less, so I offer adjusted rates for them. If your adult dog is under 50 lbs, please remind me 😉 **Since I live in an apartment, I’m unable to board dogs that bark excessively — including barking at hallway sounds or building noise. This helps me respect my neighbors and maintain a peaceful environment. I appreciate your understanding 😊 Though I don't have my own dog, I've always adored spending time around them. I have helped friends and and family take care of theirs for years. I have had cats for the past 24 years. Bunnies, squirrels, goats and even a chick; I have been lucky to get to care for all kinds of animals. I started out on Rover so I could enjoy some time with more furbabies until we're ready to commit to our next one and I am living my DREAM ❤️

Reviews

Shireen was incredible! First time I use a dog sitter for my 3 1/2 old puppy. She stayed a week with Shireen, unfortunately, she was colicky the entire week. Shireen went the extra mile, made bland rice for her to settle her stomach and her intestines. Incredibly patient annd has an incredible love for dogs. I was very nervous about having such a young puppy get dog sit but she just put me at ease to the point where I’ve already planned my next dog sitting with her. Thank you Shireen for an amazing experience for me and for my puppy Sunday.

Shireen is the first person I have had my dog stay at over night outside of our family and she made me feel incredibly comfortable and safe. She sent me several updates with videos and pictures. She loved on my dog as if he were her own. I would definitely have him stay with Shireen again.

When I urgently needed short-term care for Simba, I found Shireen on Rover, and she was exceptional. I was initially hesitant, as Simba has very limited experience with children and is highly reactive. Shireen reassured me immediately, clearly explaining how she would keep Simba and her child fully separated and safe at all times, and she followed through on every promise. Shireen cared for Simba for approximately 24 hours, strictly respected all instructions, and provided an outstanding number of updates and photos. Her communication, reliability, and attention to detail gave me complete peace of mind. In my experience, caring for Simba for a single day or night can be more challenging than longer stays. Simba is a reactive dog who needs time and patience to build trust, especially when meeting new people. During short stays, his separation anxiety is often heightened, and sitters may not get the opportunity to see him fully settle into his calmer state. Initial resistance does not mean aggression, but it does require emotional awareness, consistency, and calm handling. Despite these challenges, Shireen showed real attentiveness and patience, approaching Simba with calm energy and respect for his boundaries. Even within a limited time frame, she created a safe and controlled environment and handled him responsibly, which speaks volumes about her natural ability with animals. I would confidently recommend Shireen to anyone seeking a thoughtful, trustworthy caregiver, especially for dogs who require understanding rather than rushed expectations.
I highly recommend Shireen. Teo came out super happy, and in the videos you can tell he felt comfortable — and most importantly, he wasn’t scared. She is patient and sweet.
