Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
As important as it is to ensure your pets are comfortable with me, I always want to make sure you also feel confident in allowing me into your space. I’m lgbtq+ friendly- as I’m a part of the community as well- and an active, open minded, advocate for social justice. Mutual respect and safety is a must! I prefer to care for pets in their own home, and often find pets are most comfortable with this. I’m happy to stay overnight, or drop in for brief visits throughout the day. I regularly take walks longer than 3 miles, so I’m happy to take dogs with more energy on longer walks or even for a run!
Ratings and reviews
Shira was great while we were away! She took the time to meet our dog prior to her stay and was patient with him while he adjusted to a new person. We would happily have her back again. Thank you!

Shira did a great job!

Shira was great with our dogs and in our home. I am so grateful to have found her. We have a very nervous pup who doesn't always do well with strangers. But Shira worked with him, visiting him twice before our week away. Now he thinks Shira is his best friend. Shira was also super accommodating when our flight was delayed. I am already looking forward to booking her again. Thank you!

I don't know if there's enough room for all the positive things I want to say about Shira. With my dog having recently become lame in her hind legs, this trip was on the verge of being canceled due to my nervousness about leaving her with someone who would give her the proper care. I did my best explaining her needs to Shira and she went above and beyond. She used her knowledge to outline some tips and tricks for me to make caring for my dog better and keep her in a good quality of life. I actually almost cried when I saw how much care she had been giving my dog. I seriously cannot thank her enough and would absolutely use her again.

Shira has looked after my middle-aged cat Zelda multiple times, and I couldn’t be happier with her services! She is kind, mindful of all of my cat’s particular needs (food schedule, medicine, play preferences, etc.) , and sends daily updates. I’m so grateful to have found such a trustworthy pet sitter!
Shira is a very great and reliable pet sitter! Not only is she patient and affectionate with our dogs, she is super nice and respectful towards us and extremely easy to work with. She is very attentive and willing to accomadate any and all of our pets needs! I recently adopted a pitt mix who is terrified of other people and after just one visit, he now excitedly greets Shira at the door like she is part of the family!

Schedule
My work schedule is somewhat flexible, but I do work in person 7-8hrs/day Monday-Fri. This is a loose outline of my typical care routine: ~8-9am: Give food, water, & medications if needed. Clean up any overnight accidents. Take dogs on a long walk after they finish eating. ~5:30-6:30pm: Refill water bowls, give second meals/meds if applicable. Take dogs out, check litter boxes, clean any messes left behind from the daytime. ~8:30-10pm: Take dogs on last walks for the night, clean litter boxes, check water, etc. — happy to adjust as necessary / when available to accommodate any additional visits, meals, or medications needed.
